                               Kratos

I held Ivy close to my chest as we slowly made our way out of the castle. I watched as ash fluttered to the ground around us. The gray hazy sky filled with clumps of black. No doubt from the burning of bodies.

That was normal down here. If there wasn't an event or celebration, then prisoners were 'cremated'.

Well, after they hold them for a few hundred years.

I watched as guards paced the large spike-lined gates. There was a pattern. Left, left and right, right. Two guards on either side. It'd be impossible to get myself out let alone with a mortal.

I looked down at Ivy. Her pale face now surrounded by bright pink and red hair. The red strands confused me. She wasn't nearly old enough to be going through her second phase.

Stress, possibly? Or perhaps her body's reaction to her being ill and it's a protection mechanism.

"Ivy?" I touched her forehead, she was now burning up. I need to get her to Heaven or at least Earth.

Earth.

Ivy hasn't been able to complete her job. It's about April now on Earth. They no doubt still are in winter. There aren't any fresh trees or flowers blossoming.

I watched the guards for what seemed like hours. They slowly began to leave one by one. Soon enough, there was only one guard. This was our chance.

I leaned Ivy against the side wall of the castle,"I'll be back soon. I promise." I kissed her forehead a goodbye and slowly stood, making my way to the guard.

I'm not by any means weak, but my strength doesn't appear to be all here. I blame the suffocating environment of the underworld.

I held a sharpened femur in my right hand and slowly crept up on the demon.

Taking him out was easy. A quick jab to the neck. It wouldn't kill him but it'd disable him long enough for My sister and I to escape.

I grabbed the ring of keys attached to his side. As they severed contact, an alarm began to blare throughout the kingdom.

"Fuck!" I screamed and raced back to Ivy. I sighed in relief when my eyes met her unconscious figure.

I wasted no time scooping her into my arms and racing across the front courtyard. Past the gate, there was a portal. If we could go through it,  we'd be placed somewhere on Earth.

Zeus and God would be able to locate us, and save her.

I fumbled with the keys once we reached the gate. I tried every key on the goddamn ring but none seemed to work.

"Dammit." I growled and looked behind us. Demons and creatures of every kind seemed to be pouring out of the castle.

They were on a hunt and we were the prey.
