*Another few months later.
Because of the huge crater now cutting them off from exploring further the patrol group had to bring out a few civilians who specialized in building and architecture in order to make a bridge.Even though they had to bring Gerson along for one more bit of protection along with the original group from the first patrol no one minded. It got people outside to prove it wasn't that bad.
The beaver monsters were quick to get the bridge done, using some of the leftover fallen trees to build with.
There was no safety rails or anything though, but no one really thought people would go over it often.
After everyone returned home it didn't take long for the word to get out that outside was safe and quite a welcome change after being in home for a while now.
Slowly people began to ask about coming out on patrols to see outside and slowly the group got bigger after each outing.
"Mr. Gaster!" A rabbit woman called out, practically dragging two children behind her. "Some of the other families and I have made a list of people who would like to go outside. I would give you the list but uh- it has over a hundred monsters on it. Not including children." She spoke.
At first Gaster was hardly listening until she mentioned the number, and that's not even including people who didn't get to see the list and children.
"When can I have the list?" He asked, setting his current project down as he looked at the woman.
"Oh sure! I didn't think you'd want it. I'll have my husband bring it over after he returns from work. He's one of the puzzle calibrators you hired." She spoke proudly, scooping up the younger of the 2 children with her. "Thank you Mr. Gaster!" She called back gleefully as she left.
That's when he called Asgore.
He was invited over to talk about it, showing up shortly after he was given the list of names. The two sat down, Toriel brought tea before sitting down as well while Gaster pushed the book of names over to them. "People want out."
"Whatever do you mean my friend?" Toriel asked while Asgore grabbed the book and began reading over the names.
"So after we started letting small groups of monsters come with us every once in a while, the list began to get bigger and bigger. Now look at it. Practically half of monster kind wants to at least look outside." Gaster responded to Toriel. "I think it's time we start moving out of here." He promted.
Toriel let out a sigh as she looked over at her husband, who was in fact still reading over the list. "We did not want to annouce it so soon because we were afraid of the response but.." she began, waiting to see if Asgore would chime in.
"We were planning on moving back, closer to the barrier. That way if something did come through we would be able to see it and stop it much quicker. Not to mention it gives people time to hide within Home." She finished when Asgore didn't even take notice in the conversation.
"Looks like you both weren't the only ones wanting out." Gaster responded, looking over at Asgore when he set the book down with a sigh. "I believe it is time to make the announcement." He spoke. "Would you be okay with helping spread the news that we have something to say? The one who gave you this list should be able to help greatly" Asgore stated.
"Of course." Gaster answered as he stood up. "I'll be on my way then." He added.
"Be safe my friend, see you again soon." Toriel spoke as he left, giving him a smile when he peaked over his shoulder with a small wave.
It wasn't hard to find the bunny family again, he was planning on just telling Ray to share the news while he served people and the family was in one of the booths.
They happily agreed to spread the message, already done with the meals they had gotten anyway and were off fairly quickly.
Then he set his attention to his normal people, Arial and Harrington.
After all they were probably going to help lead through the caves as a safety precaution.
"Oh G you're just in time! Hari and I were just about to come get you." Arial greeted with a smile. "Any plans before we blabber on about our ideas?" She asked.
Gaster felt a small bit of uneasiness unravel within him but he pushed it aside as he shared the news. "Actually I'm supposed to be telling everyone the King and Queen will be making an announcement in a while." He replied. "I was coming to see if you to could help."
"Oh of course!" Harrington chirped up immediately, grabbing Gaster by the back of the lab coat as he rushed forward in excitement, dragging Gaster along in the process.
It was a good minute before Gaster was able to free himself and stumble to his feet before having to quickly catch up to the two who began telling every monster they saw.
He ended up having to pin them both with blue magic for a second to get them to slow down for a minute. "Hold up, you two are running around like you're on a caffeine high." He chuckled.
"Sorry" Hari smiled as turned to gaster.
"It seems like the news spread to everyone anyway." Ari added. "And I may or may not have had 1 too many cups of tea today"
"That would make a lot of sense. Just because it doesn't taste like it doesn't mean it doesn't have caffeine-" Gaster began to speak as loud bells sounded, signaling the speech was about to begin.
"Come on I think you two would like the news now that I mention it." Gaster smiled, now being the one to lead the two along.
"Oh, what is it?" Hari prompted.
"You'll see, we're almost there" Gaster replied.
