"I get that we can't feel the cold and all but why snowed-in?" Harrington asked Gaster, both of them ignoring Arial who started laughing at Gaster struggling to swallow the food down so he didn't talk with his mouth full.
"Ah- well it's just the most intriguing ecosystem I've come across in a while. Pine trees in a cave and a whether system down underground is unheard of." Gaster responded. "Plus I feel like it'd get me pretty far from the people which I don't need if I'm retired." He added with a chuckle. "Arial stop laughing at me-"
Arial had already fallen backwards onto the ground, holding her would be stomach as she calmed down the giggles that erupted from her, letting out a sigh as she sat up a little bit and gave him a teasing smirk.
"Well I'm so used to seeing you all grumpy that the expression caught me off guard." She teased.
"Was that a pun?" Hari immediately asked, raising one of his non existant eyebrows.
"I dunno captain you tell me." She giggled as she finally corrected herself and sat up properly.
Gaster went to open his mouth for a moment to say something but decided against it, ignoring the feeling that bubbled up in his throat.
"As a pun enthusiast I hereby declare that you have just said a pun. Congrats." Hari chuckled along with her.
Before they could even look over at gaster to bring him into the conversation he shoved the rest of the hot-dog in his mouth, shrugging when they looked at him in a confused and amused manner.
"I'm starting to think you forgot to feed yourself for a while." Ari hummed, watching as Gaster nodded in response before shrugging it off.
"I figured. So I brought you two. I don't like greasy stuff anyway" she smiled, handing him the other hot-dog as he mumbled a thank you after finishing his bite.
"So based off our quick trip through the mountain there should be a more swamp like area up ahead. Has plenty of plant life but is also significantly darker than the rest of the caverns." He spoke, pulling out his notebook real quick.
"The same stones we have in the ceiling doesn't seem to light up this area as well. But for some reason it makes them easier to see. Because of the dark I took note on a lot of glowing flora." Gaster chimed in, flipping through till he found the notes he took when they first walked through the cavern system.
He quickly flipped the book around to show them the notes and quick sketches of some plants he saw on their way through.
"The most interesting one was a glowing flower. I wonder what use will come with them later on if any." He stated, pointing over to the drawn out flower.
"Seems interesting!" Arial spoke in an excited manner while Hari looked over the book a little more.
"Never knew you could draw-" he pointed out with a smile.
"It's not drawing! It's scientific sketches that help relay information. Engineers and other jobs in the like do it all the time." Gaster spoke up quickly, a blush forming on his face to match his voice crack from embarrassment.
"He got a coloured pencil kit when he was five and used up each one within a week-" Arial whispered loudly, knowing he would hear.
That he did, his face darkening more as he chucked his pencil at her. "Did not! It's a very normal thing for a kid to draw and I threw them away because I didn't like them." He pouted, crossing his arms as well.
"Yeah the ends of the pencils because you couldn't sharpen them anymore-" she teased.
Just before he tried to make another comeback he was silenced by a loud bell ringing and everyone moving to get packed up and ready to move again.
As a group the monsters continuing on their journey said goodbye to the folk who wanted to stay in snowed-in and start building their new homes.
"This place is kinda gross. Not gonna lie." Arial hummed, side stepping to avoid a muddy puddle that most other monsters just walked through.
"No I think your so called 'Standards' just make you a wimp" Gaster responded in a teasing tone while he sketched out a more detailed picture of the echo flowers near them.
"A wimp huh?" She smirked, walking up beside him before jumping into a puddle he was next to, splashing some mud on his face and note book. Not a whole lot but enough to get him to glare over at her.
"I will smack you with my book Arial."
"Then do it. Wimp"
