"okay, so to sum everything up. this is a universe inside a multiverse containing thousands of alternate versions of it." Sans made a small break while looking at Xavier for confirmation.
Xavier hummed in approval.
"this is actually the second time this multiverse has started running. because it collapsed the first time."
Xavier nodded.
"there was a god that created all these universes and copies of them, named ink. he was told of the balance between creation and destruction, but he somehow got detached from the multiverse and the grasp of the deities that created him and this multiverse, and he started creating excessively." Sans moved his hands around as he spoke and only stopped to look at Xavier to make sure what he was saying was right.
"so you were created, and given the role of destroying unnecessary or broken universes and their copies. this ink guy somehow trapped you in a place called 'the antivoid' that exists between all the universes and you slowly went crazy and forgot who you were and what you were supposed to do. you broke out of there at some point and felt like you needed to destroy universes. you had become glitched because you stayed in the antivoid too long and were dubbed 'error' by ink, so everyone else called you that aswell. correct?"
"Pretty much, yes."
"ink told everyone you just destroyed for fun, and they attacked you all the time trying to kill you. you befriended some of my copies and the misunderstood versions of 'chara', who we call elidi, and stuff was okay for a while. at some point ink gathered every monster or human or whatever being was in my position in their universe and ambushed you." Sans looked at the taller skeleton across from him with sympathy in his eyes, yet also pain, as he clearly didn't want the next part to be true.
"Exactly."
Sans took a moment before continuing with his 'not so short yet still by a looooooong way shorter than Xavier's' summary'.
He took a deep breath.
"so. they attacked you until you could no longer move and a bit after that. ink used his magic to restrain you and limit your magic to only enough that you could survive, and he locked you within the antivoid again."
Xavier merely nodded, like the repeat of the torture he had been through was nothing more important than talking about the weather. Sans just couldn't- no, didn't want to think about what this skeleton went through in order for such a thing to no longer phase him.
Sans' voice wavered slightly. "s-so you were kept in there, unable to dust or fully heal. with ink creating universes nonstop and stopping by either alone or with others in order to beat you up again."
He took a small break to breathe in, although he didn't really need to.
"and you sat there helpless for void knows how long. in the unending whiteness of the antivoid."
"I had some things in the antivoid since I resided in there, but for the most part yes."
"there were several attempts to free you by the ones you befriended, and ended up calling your family, but you were trapped. at some point you felt the first universes collide and ink entered the antivoid to ask how you destroyed the universes, you told him the truth like you had done since your creation, but were just beat up and he left again even more mad."
"mhm" hummed the dark skeleton in confirmation.
"time went on, and the universe started colliding with each other more and more frequently, until a chain of mass destruction was set off. you had felt your family die and mourned in the antivoid. you felt your hate and anger towards the creator rise as time went on, until you felt the original universe, which is this one, get hit and start to be destroyed. ink came to you demanding answers as this universe died off, and with it the antivoid, and just told him that he knew this would happen, and heard him begging and threatening you until the antivoid finally crumbled and you thought you were erased."
Xavier nodded.
"you don't know why or how, but you woke up in a place you called the 'a.u.tarioum' and the multiverse was reset, and so was your body and mental state. you basically allowed the concept of time to enter the multiverse as you first started the multiverse, and therefore this universe, and now you are telling us all of this so you can avoid what happened last time by letting us know of the balance."
"Precisely."
"Okay, but how do we know this punk is telling the truth?"
"Undyne!" complained Alphys.
"What? This dude could have just made all of this up. He could just be coo-coo and trying to convince us of his fantasy!"
"U-Undyne that's r-rude! Xavier j-justs t-trusted us with his whole l-life s-story, a-a-and you just ask h-him to prove i-it's true?"
"No, she has a point. How do we know we can trust him?" supplied Asgore; slightly worsening his average relationship with Toriel, since the motherly monster had seen no lies reflected in the eyelights of the monster, and knew wholeheartedly he was telling the truth.
In all honesty, Asgore was somewhat intimidated by the huge skeleton. Before a full-fledged fight broke off, Xavier spoke up.
"I suppose it wouldn't hurt to show you." he said.
"Huh?" supplied Dakota oh so helpfully.
"You may check me."
