Chapter Three: Progress

Everything was slowly falling into place.

The Commonworld, otherwise known as the Lobby, was getting along great. The place was slowly becoming a city. Cafés, restaurants, arcades, souvenir shops, hotels, clubs, bakeries, all sorts of establishments and institutes were starting to fill the vastness that was the dimension he built.

More than 80 AUs had been systematically awoken and connected to the whole.

Xavier actually started the Aus from the core outwards in a way that made all the AUs withing each circle have a sort of timezone. Each circle had an hour difference from each other. A system that was, in Xavier's humble opinion, much better than the random thing Ink had had going on.

Not even the seconds were aligned with Ink's – calling it a system would be an insult to science of all kinds. There was none.

So that meant that Undertale, Underswap, and Underfell were the Universes where time sort of 'began'. Echotale, Outertale, Sciencetale, Horrortale, Dancetale, and Mobtale were an hour later than the first three, and so on.

It was pretty hectic in the multiverse, but things were organised right from the start.

The council was established when Red came along, and new members were introduced the moment things calmed down in their AUs.

This time around the council was broadcasted live directly to the homes of the main groups, so they were informed and could send their Judges messages directly to a tablet they had with them, so nothing could be hidden. No actions, ambushes, or secret schemes organised behind the backs of their friends and family.

Ink's mistakes cannot be repeated.

Things were more or less functional aswell. It took a while, but Xavier created some people to inhabit and work in the Lobby, so it was more alive.

Often times he just created a random person, let them choose where to stay, and then they'd find what to do themselves. That's how a few of the smaller shops like the 'Knits And Needles' shop was opened. A small shop a spider monster and a goat monster opened together after they found out about knitting and how they could create their own supplies. Mainly with magic. Magic and actual physical supplies. Xavier himself warned them not to use anything directly created with their physical bodies.

That was also around the time he established a sort of health and hygiene code for the Lobby. He got help from Sci for this, and also had lots of the universes in action send him the health codes active in their own worlds.

A lot of the people outside the main crew tended to find out about the multiverse aswell. They were given the choice to forget, move in in the Commonworld and be replaced by a replica, or have their code manipulated so they can still know and help out the crew, but are physically unable to talk about it in the presence of anyone else.

If you couldn't already guess, the Commonworld was more of its own world than a meeting point between others by now. Expansion may be needed in some form in the near future.

But for now, everything was running smoothly.

Well.. Mostly..

You see, Xavier had forgotten that Nightmare and Dream had this sort of.. 'Plot armor' given by their AU while the core storyline was in process.

Imagine Xavier's annoyance when Nightmare just straight up left his AU and inhabited an anomalous replica of the Castle in his AU that was attached to both his AU and the antivoid.

Yes.

He had to stabilise it.

And yes.

He had to lock Nightmare in the dimension his castle was in.
