A cacophony of agreement came from all sides. At this moment, Xavier couldn't have been any happier to have his body, mind, and stats refreshed. Listening to all of this commotion would have triggered some kind of trauma before the multiverse - and Xavier with it - was reset.

"I'm glad." he stated. "Let's start with some of the most important stuff first."

"What do you want to call yourselves?"

It was almost comical how comic-worthy this moment was. The air flowing through his skull was the only sound before a collective 'huh?' came from the main group of monsters and human.

Xavier somewhat expected this, but still took a moment to take a deep breath and mentally prepare himself.

"In this multiverse, all of you have hundreds of counterparts. Versions of yourselves from universes as different from this one as they are alike. All of your versions tend to have the same names as you, so it would make sense to at least give your group a name. Something that represents you and your universe."

"This.. Is quite a bit responsibility." spoke Asgore.

"H-how would we e-even b-b-begin to look for a-a name?"

"Yeah, I agree with Al here. How do we even represent a whole universe?"

For Xavier, it all looked like a pretty easy concept to grasp. A moment of confusion went over him before he remembered that these monsters had only now found out about the multiverse. Xavier was hit with a wave of nostalgia that almost made him physically flinch. How long had it been since he was the first one to connect a universe to the whole?

Xavier looked at his lap in thought. Realisation after realisation hit him time and time again. He was suddenly the oldest being in the multiverse. He was, in fact, the only one who had access to the multiverse as a whole. He had knowledge that predated the beginning of time this time around. He wasn't a being born eons after time began and the inhabitants of the multiverse began intermingling, but rather a being that was literally older than time.

"Xavier..?" asked Dakota softly.

The dark skeleton raised his head and looked at the human child. His eyelights looked at the slight difference in features Dakota had from Frisk before shaking his head and refocusing. He knew what to do.

The immortal brought his hand forward. "This," he opened his palm so it faced the sky and let a hologram of the name 'Undertale' in its respective font slowly spin on it "is the name of your universe."

"UNDER.. TALE?"

"And this," he raised his left hand and moved the hologram at a different spot in the air. He then summoned a small three dimensional map filled with dots. There was no apparent ending to the map, but it seemed like all of the dots - which were currently a dull gray - were positioned around a bright, white dot in the middle of the hologram. "is your position in the multiverse."

"Wow.." breathed out Dakota. "There are so many dots.."

Xavier nodded. "Each dot is an alternate universe, AU for short. Your dot is the white one in the middle of the map. This universe is the only one active right now, so the rest do not yet have any colouration."

Everyone regarded the map and name with great interest.

"So.. We're in the center of the multiverse?" asked Undyne. Her yellow eyes now looking at the black-boned skeleton with an expression way different than when they first met. This time being respectful and eager to hear what this skeleton had to say.

"In a way. This is the so called 'original universe'. The first one ever made. This universe is the first and only universe to be made directly by the deities. The universes after this were brought to existence by Ink, the Creator of universes. Whether the universes Ink originally made are now recreations of them by the deities is something I have yet to discover. The Creator was the first godly being to be created by the deities, making me the second and last one of their descendants. "

"WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER GODS?"

"Every other God was either created by Ink, or by a single Deity or higher being. It will be quite a while before the two are set in motion, but the guardians and gods of feelings and dreams are a great example of this. They were created by Feelings and blessed by some of the other Deities, and are the God's closest to who I was before the restart of multiverse. Whether they were above or bellow the Gods of Life and Death I cannot recall."

"That is.."

"S-so interesting!"

"yeah. but we're changing the subject. what do we call ourselves?"

"WELL, IF I UNDERSTOOD CORRECTLY, WE ARE THE ORIGINALS! WHY NOT USE THAT TITLE FOR OURSELVES?"

"That's one option."

Xavier moved the map to the side opposite of the universe name and a list with the title 'Potential titles' appeared between them. After the first point came in view, the word 'original' followed as if typed in.

"What if we call ourselves the 'core-characters'? I think that sounds kinda cool!" suggested Dakota.

"what about ut-monsters?"

"You-Tee?"

"no, like the letters. ut as in under tale."

"Hmm.."

"You were referred to as the 'classic' monsters before." added Xavier before adding that one to the list aswell.

"Classic sounds quite nice."

"what about 'prime' or 'basic'?"

"THE GREAT PAPYRUS LIKES THE IDEA OF PRIME, BUT IS UNSURE ABOUT BASIC."

"Indeed. It is an interesting suggestion, but the feel of it seems strange."

Xavier listened to the main cast of Undertale suggest and discuss names as he noted them down on the slowly spinning hologram in the middle of everyone.

The mention of Ink did make him wonder what happened to the marked white skeleton. He had survived the death and rebirth of the multiverse, so who is to say Ink didn't do so too? He couldn't sense the other's magic signature in the multiverse, but his own signature changed somewhat since the glitching stopped.

Xavier brought his attention back to the present. The sun was now about three to five hours away from setting but the main group seemed to finally be coming to an agreement.

So, yeah. I'm posting this on a Friday because I am actually leaving on vacation, and don't want to use up my, or my parents' data, so.. Yeah. Bid all the work I did to finally correct my skeleton this year, because I'll be sleeping in the car again. For two days. And then two back. Yaaaaay.

Oh! And by the way. I have another FGOD story (this one is a crossover I haven't found being written about yet) and I literally have had the prologue and the first two chapters done for months. I'm having a bit of trouble getting the third chapter right, but the chapters in that book are longer. I wanted to finish it, or at least get a decent amount of chapters done before I published anything, but I don't know what to do. So uh.. Would you rather read three chapters and then wait for the next update (whenever that would be) or just not read it before I have at least five chapters ready? Please, I would like your thoughts on this.

Anyway.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and wish you a great day/night 💜

Question: What do you want the monsters to be called? (the naming would be like original Toriel/ central Toriel etc)
