Xavier hummed. A deep, gentle sound that resonated lightly from within him. His eyes were half lidded, his eyelights gaining a golden, powdery glow as his fingertips grazed the cravings in the walls they walked by.
The gentle smile on his face was pleasant and mysterious; never betraying the joyful memories playing behind them.
"I would assume a monster as great as you has already thought of potential plans? A placement, name, and theme, for example?"
Blue took his eyelights off the playful scenes on the walls. It took a moment to regain his focus, for he was slightly startled. He hadn't realised his eyelights trailed back on the walls. Or stared at them with such intensity.
"Of Course!" he exclaimed, eyes gaining a richer shade of blue as magic concentrated within them.
"I Have Thought About It A Lot! I Didn't Realise It Until Now, But I Always Wanted People To Try My Dishes!" Blue's eyes turned into stars. "I Can't Wait To See The Smiles On Their Faces Once They Taste Them!"
Xavier chuckled as Blue brought his hands to his chest and visibly vibrated from excitement.
"That is quite.. Magnificent. I assume you already have a name and sign design picked out?"
"Of Course!" Blue exclaimed proudly. "I'm Not Sure About How I Want It To Look Yet, So It Will Have To Be A Surprise For Now." Blue's bonebrows furrowed in thought as the skeleton delved into though; a gloved hand brought to his chin to accompany his thoughtful pout.
"The Magnificent Sans Is Having Some Difficulties Deciding A Set Theme. The Restaurant Should Be As Magnificent As I, So It's Not As Easy To Get Right.."
Xavier managed to miraculously keep his wolfish laughter from escaping his teeth and masked the few chuckles that tasted freedom with coughing.
"Woah!" Blue exclaimed as he rushed to his friend's side; his right hand patting Xavier's back while the other held his arm to make sure he wouldn't fall over. The action was quite unnecessary, since the size of the coughing God's body would pull the smaller along with it if he were to tip over, but the gesture was appreciated.
"Are You Alright Friend?"
Xavier slightly tilted his head to the other side to hide his expression. He brought his hand to his mouth to stifle the last of his chuckling before standing straight once more. "I'm fine, Blue." he started "Don't worry. These old bones are not planning on giving up any time soon."
Blue's eyes stared at Xavier with adoration as he stood straight; hands rest on the back of his waist as he stretched and let his bones pop into place.
A habit he picked up during his time hiding or being locked in the antivoid.
The tall skeleton let out a satisfying grunt followed by a sigh. Blues eyelights followed his form as his phallanges rubbed against his nape.
"You Seem Tired, Xavier." commented Blue. His voice still light, but softer, worry being conveyed without him having to say it clearly.
That's how he was. Always somehow able to tell others how he feels while maintaining a mostly pleasant expression. You couldn't tell how he felt by his expression alone. At least, not if you don't have access to what hides in his bright blue eyes.
He stopped rubbing the back of his neck. For a moment, Xavier was motionless. His eyelights flickered across the halls in front of him reminding him of work. How much he'd done.
And how much he still had ahead of him.
Xavier dropped his arm with a sigh. His head bobbed down as his shoulders rose and fell. He rolled his skull towards his friend with a tired smile.
"It's just been a long day.."
His eyes met with Blue's and he couldn't help but moan at the disbelief filling them; his head lolling back towards the stairway ahead of him, along with his gaze, in a circular motion.
"Let's just go upstairs, we can talk more there. There's no use standing here."
Blue nodded. Not that Xavier could see it from behind him, but he did anyway.
The way up the stairs was short, but silent.
Not awkward by any means, but quiet enough for Blue to notice the absence of sound that should come from wind.
'So he didn't add wind yet.' he nodded to himself.
The smell of wood was delightful. The smell of varnish from the wooden tables and chairs mixed with the smell of coffee and the various plants all around in a shockingly well balanced combination of scents.
It was surprisingly pleasant.Xavier walked towards a large polygon, nearly circular table, Blue following suit wordlessly until Xavier sat down.
"So.. How Long Have You Been Working On This Place?" asked Blue as he set his backpack on the chair and brought out a taperware full of tacos, before setting it down on the table.
Blue eyed Xavier from the corner of his socket as he brought out a glass bottle of orange juice. Xavier brought a hand up to his skull and lightly scratched the tearstains nearest to his jaw; his eyes looking to the side.
"I'm not quite sure. I haven't installed a day and night cycle yet..."
Two soft thuds came off the table as two short glasses were set down.
"Did You Stop To Take A Break Since I Last Visited You?" he asked while setting down napkins and plates in front of each of them.
"Well.." he rolled his head to the other side, his eyes now starring at the warm, dark brown wooden floor, and the scratching moving to his other cheek. "Prime visited once or twice.. Or thrice.. His Universe will be resetting for the first time soon and I wanted to figure out when it could happen.. Maybe I should organise a psychiatric institute here soon.."
"Xavier."
The tall God looked up – when did he let his head lol downwards? – to his friend.
"Yes?"
"You Didn't Take A Break At All, Did You?" he asked as he slid a plate of tacos towards him. His eyes were looking at the plate before looking into Xavier's dual-coloured ones.
There was no words spoken, and yet so much was said.
Blue just sighed.
"Come On, Let's Eat. Void Knows When You'll Do Get To Eat Next If You Keep This Up."
