"C-check you?

"What would checking you even prove!?"

"There is evidence of my life left behind in my check. I haven't checked myself yet, but I hope my check has, as the rest of my body, stopped glitching. It should allow you to see who I truly am." tried to explain Xavier.

"Xavier makes a strong point. I can feel he has been truthful, but even if I have been mistaken, his check cannot be faked." said Toriel in a matter-of-fact tone.

"I'll do it." said Dakota and walked in front of Xavier. She took as small breath and readied herself.

"Here goes nothing!"

BLING!

There was a moment of silence as Xavier himself was shocked at what he saw. He hadn't yet retrieved all of his memories, or checked himself since way before the collapse, so seeing clear, unglitched, and.. filled.. stats was really surprising.

"So.. You're basically God?" mumbled Dakota while still in a trance.

The unexpected comment made Xavier start laughing. His laugh genuine and hard enough to bring tears to his eyes.

"Aha.. Sorry, I was caught off guard.. Ahaha.." Xavier wiped his tears way with his sleeve and looked at the human child; albeit in a more happy and serene mood.

"I am merely a God little one." he said with amusement laced in his voice. "I might now be the Guardian of the Multiverse, but even if that makes me the highest God, there are hundreds of others awaiting their consciousness to be awoken. Whether they are major, minor, or mere demigods, there are countless of them."

Xavier paused for a moment to think before correcting himself. "Or, well, there used to be countless of them. There are probably only a mere thousand, maybe a bit more, of them for now. I'll have to check that out soon.."

"Dude! You could start your own religion! Or a Cult! You can literally just take anything you want with the excuse of being God!" exclaimed Undyne.

Xavier's mouth twitched before he averted his eyes; his expression changing to one of awkwardness and discomfit¹. "I have no desire to be in a position of worship or adulation. I simply wish to keep the multiverse stable and safe."

"Adu-what?" commented Undyne confused.

"Adulation. It means excessive admiration and praise."

"Oh.. And why not."

"U-Undyne-"

"It is simply not something I want. I am only here in order to keep the mistakes of the past from repeating. I have lived long enough to watch Gods become corrupt, and benevolent beings turn on that which they swore to protect. It is not a sight for the faint of heart." he looked at his phalanges, which were now as sleek as the day of his creation, and saw the cracks, blood, dust, and tears that had adorned them time and time again during his life long before now. "It is soul-wrenching to see even those of pure soul and mind gazing upon their saviour with terror. The heavy dread of certain death, paired with the fear of unpreventable doom has crossed the paths of many it should have not.."

Xavier looked up and let his eyelights glow with power; their light so bright that the sun's light seemed dim. Justice and decision emanated² from his being. "I am not about to let that happen again."

A heavy silence was cast upon everyone on the small hill. The air around them heavy with words of unthinkable terror left unspoken by the being which had lived through them.

Xavier eventually tore his gaze away from Undyne's stunned, yet searching eyes. The heavy atmosphere seemingly setting the group free as the immortal among them let out a sigh.

Undyne opened and closed her mouth like a fish out of the water as she searched for what to say. She was, for the first time in a while, at a loss for words.

"Besides.." Xavier summoned a few strings in his hand that quickly took the form of a small pouch. Once formed, the blue coloring and glow of the strings was quickly overtaken by a coarse brown that spread in small patches. When it was finished, Xavier tilted the pouch so that the opening was aimed at his hand and G started falling into his open palm. "I have no need for charity to acquire what I need."

"WOWIE! THIS IS QUITE EXCEPTIONAL!" exclaimed Papyrus with wonder.

"heh. yeah. seems like we're in luck to have you here. sorry to have doubted you buddy. you seem like a great fellow tibia honest. heh."

"SANS!"

The shortest skeleton chuckled.

With the weight of the earlier revelation gone, Xavier allowed himself to close his sockets and a small smile to take over.

"Some things never change" Xavier opened his eyes and looked at the skeleton brothers kindly.

"Xavier, dear" spoke Toriel. "You have proven that you truly are the one you claim to be. I am fairly certain I speak for all of us when I say it is an honour to have met you personally."

The dark skeleton nodded in acknowledgement. "Likewise" he uttered.

"But what will the next step of this journey be?"

Everyone present turned their heads towards Xavier expectantly.

The God looked at each of the monsters and child around him carefully before finally speaking again.

"Now, we build the counsil. We spread the word of balance, and keep an open mind. The knowledge of alternative universes shall remain contained within this group. But before all that," he looked up at the group "are you ready to help me keep the multiverse safe?"
