The car ride home was exciting for Hinata. He get to talk to Atsumu and he could spend more time with him. Atsumu even had a plushie at the back seat to which Hinata grabbed before he started driving. If it was with Kageyama, he had to stay silent or just go to sleep.

"So, how's your love life?" Hinata asked out of the blue, playing with the plushie's hands. He made faces at the plushie as if it would make a face back. Atsumu noticed that and chuckled.

"Woah. Straight to the point. I like this new Shoyo." Atsumu snickered.

"Quit it and tell meeee! Are you dating the brunette earlier? Okinawa?"

"Oikawa. And no. I've been single." Atsumu explained. He glanced at Hinata for a second and caught a glimpse of his happy face. "Why? Are you happy that I'm single?"

"Pft... no... I think you're lying. How could you be single? You're so handsome and talented!" Hinata praised the blonde. Atsumu felt proud and he lifted his chest. He broke into a laugh.

"The same question goes to you, Shoyo. You're so cute and friendly, how could YOU be single?" Atsumu's question actually made sense. Hinata has asked himself that question for long too. But he never found an answer, like he's never found someone that liked him back. He suddenly remembered all the people he had a crush on back then and how he could've been in at least one relationship if he would've mustered up the courage to confess.

"How about that blueberry barista? He seems to like you a lot." Atsumu brought the matter up. He remembered how Kageyama looked at Hinata and how he glared at him. No one could mistake those honest eyes.

"Kageyama? Pftt... He's just a friend!"

/ "Achoo!" Kageyama sneezed. /

Atsumu raised his brows. Guess Hinata was oblivious of the barista's feelings. Still as dense as he remembered him as. Maybe that's why he was glaring at him. His lips curved into a smirk, thinking that he shouldn't worry about his love rival.

"You know, Shoyo. Nobody ever confessed to you. So I'm here to tell you—"

"Someone did."

"What?" Atsumu blinked a few times. He wanted to look at Hinata but he focused on the road. Hinata's sheepish smile made a comeback as the memory of Kuroo confessing appeared on his mind. The memory was too happy to not make him smile like an idiot. The atmosphere of the car ride suddenly fell into a comfortable silence as Hinata's smile faded. He glanced at Atsumu's side profile. He silently sighed and looked away.

It was true, Hinata was happy that someone did finally confess to him, but what made the thought disappointing is the fact that it wasn't who Hinata wanted. It was Atsumu he wanted.

Hinata had a crush on Atsumu back then. The way he talked, the way he smiled, the way he treats him, Hinata liked all of that. He found every trait that Atsumu possessed attractive. His hair, his eyes, his hands and even his thighs. Call him kinky, Hinata had thought of how badly he wanted Atsumu's hands on his neck. But neither of them crossed the best friend line and remained as just that.

Hinata told him to take a right and stop the car when they arrived. Both Hinata and Atsumu got out of the car and walked to Hinata and Nishinoya's shared apartment.

"Thanks for the ride home Atsumu! Maybe the next time you're free, I can call you to send me home!" Hinata blurted out, laughing.

"Even if I'm busy, you should still call me. I've missed you. So very much!" Hinata awed at Atsumu's words. Hinata fumbled with his keys and unlocked the door. Just as he turned around to bid his goodbyes, Atsumu opened his mouth to talk again.
