Kageyama waved back at the two waiters as he stared at their figure disappearing into the shinkansen. He then made his way back to his car. He stopped a few meters away and he stared at the person he didn't want to meet the most with hatred.
"What do you want?"
Atsumu just smirked at him. He observed him up and down and tilted his head to the side. Kageyama didn't understand what he was doing here. Did he came here to pick a fight or something? He'd be dumb if he only came here for that.
"Not me." He finally said, stepping aside, revealing his friend. Kageyama tched when he saw his face. There was one person other than Atsumu he didn't want to see. It was this brunette. It was Oikawa.
"Hey—"
"What do you want?" Kageyama repeated his question, this time a little more stern. Oikawa held back his tears and gave him a smile.
"I just want you to know, that I genuinely, truly like you. It has nothing to do with Atsumu getting Hinata. I would gladly help you get Hinata instead." Oikawa explained to him. Atsumu glared at him but said nothing. Kageyama scoffed.
"Why would you help me? You like me don't you? Why help me get Hinata?" He asked. He was annoyed by how stupid Oikawa is, spurting out things like this without effort, thinking it's nothing.
He had never thought that Oikawa would be someone who would stand in between him and Hinata. The usual visits to the cafe felt nothing to him until Valentines, the day Oikawa made clear that he had feelings for the batista. Kageyama instantly hated him, thinking that him confessing was just a part of Atsumu's plan.
Oikawa looked honest, but Kageyama was betrayed too many times to trust his pretty face.
"It's because when I like someone, I wanna see them happy. If being with Hinata makes you happy..." Oikawa trailed off, finding the right words to finish his sentence, "...then what do I have to lose?"

"Kageyama!"
Kageyama snapped back to reality. The first thing he saw was Nishinoya's hand waving in front of his face. He turned to his passenger seat and saw a confused looking Nishinoya, staring at him like he was in a dream he couldn't get out of.
Truth was, he's in a reality he can't run away from.
"Are you okay?" The older asked him, sounding concerned. Kageyama took a deep breath. What happened a week ago, was still fresh in his mind. The way Oikawa just willingly said he would help him get Hinata made his hatred for the brunette fade.
"It's about Hinata isn't it?"
Kageyama still remained quiet. He sighed and carried on his duty of sending Nishinoya home. Nishinoya only stared at Kageyama, annoyed at how he just kept quiet when he asked him a bunch of questions.
"It wouldn't kill you to talk to me you know. It's like talking to a log. Even talking to a log sounds better to me." Nishinoya complained. He then averted his gaze from Kageyama and stared out the window. He was used to being sent home by Kageyama that he had memorized the streets Kageyama took to his apartment.
"Hinata likes Atsumu. Right?" He finally spoke, earning Nishinoya's attention. Nishinoya's eyes were wide and that made him believe that he was right. Kageyama didn't continue any further and kept quiet.
"What if—" Nishinoya bit back his words. He didn't know whether he should trust Kageyama and tell him who Hinata's pick is.
