JOHN'S POV"I warned you both to stop talking, can you see what you both have caused?" The doctor said, pointing to the monitor.
"What's wrong with her?" I asked, eyeing James.
"Her heart beat is rapid, that means she can hear everything you are saying." The doctor started, watching the monitor closely.
"Nurse Titi, please come here." The doctor added, flaring his hands.
A petite nurse in a white gown ran into the room holding a couple of files.
"Please escort these two men outside." The doctor deadpanned, pointing his finger.
"And you also want to drag me out. You aren't even pitying your small frame." I said, shooting daggers at the nurse trying to grab me by the arm.
"What's your problem? Just get out of here." James yelled, pushing me out of the room and he followed suit.
"I really don't understand what's wrong with mama." I said, rubbing my eyes.
"But you just heard what the doctor said. Now go away, I need to stay in the hospital." James replied harshly, grunting like a pig.
"I am not going anywhere." I said, as we stepped out of the hospital.
"You really have no business here, you aren't part of the family." James blurted out, settling on a wooden seat outside.
"Maybe my mother disowned me, but I didn't disown my mother so stop saying that. What did I ever do to you? I'm the one supposed to be angry after that stupid stunt you did years back that ruined my life." I replied, settling my bottoms on the wooden seat.
"Your life was already ruined." James scoffed, as the first drop of rain hit his nose.
"Oh really. Can't you remember that day when Chike and his gang were beating you almost to death at the back of the senior's block. Have you forgotten when Chike tried to stab you with a knife and I stepped in to fight for you. Chike bled to death because I used the knife on him accidentally, and when we got to the police station, you lied. You said I owned the knife and I deliberately stabbed him which contradicted my statement. You were the one that ruined my life, James." I retorted, as the rain came pouring down.
"You are simply bitter about a wound you caused by yourself. I didn't ask you to fight for me neither did I tell you to kill Chike." James yelled, as the thunder gave a bolting sound which left a trail of lightning.
"Is there such thing as a wound from the past? Every wound exists in the present. They pop up in your head so often and they drive you mad. Ignoring them doesn't make them go away." I whispered, as the first rack of tears hit my body.
"On the day papa had a heart attack, why were you the one that saw him last before his death ? You literally locked me out of the room. I didn't even get to witness my father's last moments." James replied, folding his legs.
"Don't tell me that's what bothering you all this time. Mama told me to lock you out because you were sensitive. You might have fainted at the sight of Papa. You are a weakling James and you know that." I yelled, spitting on his face.
"You didn't explain that to me, instead you pushed me away. But Papa loved you a lot, he gave you attention that I craved for. Papa never defended me in anything. It was always you." James screamed, clenching his teeth together due to the coldness the rain came with.
"I can't explain that because I am not God." I yelled, holding my hands together and shivering intensely at the same time.
"Then why did Mama scold you at every opportunity she got?" James asked, his voice relaxing.
