SOLID- Solid means that the cat is entirely one color. No stripes, spots, patches, etc. When they mention solid, they usually list the pelt color of that cat. Example: Bristlefrost.

POINTED- Pointed means that the cat has a pale body, like white, but darker extremities

CALICO- Calico means that the cat's coat is typically 1/4 white to 3/4 white

CALICO- Calico means that the cat's coat is typically 1/4 white to 3/4 white. It had orange and black patches, or cream and grey patches. Some people think calico is a cat breed, but it isn't. It refers to the coat. Mostly females are calicos. Males can be, but are usually sterile. Example: Mapleshade.

MACKEREL TABBY- Mackerel tabby means that the cat sports a dark background of grey or orange, with darker stripes that run down vertically

MACKEREL TABBY- Mackerel tabby means that the cat sports a dark background of grey or orange, with darker stripes that run down vertically. Example: Bramblestar.

TICKED TABBY- Ticked tabby means that this cat doesn't have the traditional spots or stripes, but they have individually ticked agouti hairs

TICKED TABBY- Ticked tabby means that this cat doesn't have the traditional spots or stripes, but they have individually ticked agouti hairs. This is the rarest tabby coat. Example: Firestar. 

SPOTTED TABBY- Spotted tabby means that this cat has spots all over the sides, and these spots can come in different sizes and shapes

TORTOISESHELL- Tortoiseshell means that the coat colors are like a tortoiseshell's and the material feels like one too

TORTOISESHELL- Tortoiseshell means that the coat colors are like a tortoiseshell's and the material feels like one too. They are almost exclusively female. Males are rare, and are usually sterile. Example: Redtail (he was sterile, which is why he had no kits with Brindleface)

CLASSIC TABBY- Classic tabby means that this cat has striking, whirling patterns on the sides

VAN- Van, or Turkish Van, is a long-haired breed, usually found in Turkey and the UK
