Lisuga woke on a damped white sand realizing that the remains of her wrecked boathouse were also washed ashore. She scanned her surrounding hoping she'd find the others. Unfortunately, she was the only survivor. She closed her eyes and chanted her "location spell" but there were no lights gleaming as she reopened her eyes. Confused as she was, she closed her eyes again, but to her dismay, there was nothing. But she stayed positive, thinking she just needed to rest to regain her strenghth. She strolled along the beachside until she found pieces of wood from another boathouse. On the far side, she saw scavengers taking away scattered barrels and chests full of jewelry. On the spur of the moment, someone grabbed her mouth and took her towards the boulder beach to be out of sight from the scavengers.
"Why are you here?" Dumagan and Lisuaga spoke at the same time.
"Were you stalking me?" Dumagan added.
"Are you insane? The storm took us here and now I could not find the others. What about you? Maybe you are the one stalking." She retorted.
"Well, that is odd. My people and I also dragged us here by the storm." He averted her eyes as he replied.
"Whatever you think it is. I don't care. I just need to find the others." She still sounded pissed. He was not the same loving and caring man she'd been seeing in her memory and she was frustrated. She took few steps away from him but Dumagan held her off.
"You should not be caught by the scavengers. Can't you see them killing everyone?"
"That is the thing! I cannot just let them die."
"You are being ridiculous, irrational and irresponsible goddess!" He did not stop talking until he noticed her felt flattened.
"Look, I know it was my fault, but you could atleast have a little decency to speak to me." Her downcast eyes looked straight to the ground.
He gently stroke her head and said, "I am sorry. I shouldn't have said those words. Don't worry. I will help you find them, but let us do it my way, ok?"
She just nodded.
They peeped behind the boulder and unexpectedly an arrow passed right next to Lisuga's shoulder.
"Run!" Dumagan shouted.
They scampered towards the jungle leading to a more dangerous path. Without a clue, they fell into a hole that was covered with dried leaves.
They were held captives with the others and sold them one by one. A maharlikan Higaonon caught his attention to Lisuga and bought her twice the price. Not long enough, the man took her out, and Lisuga's eyes widen with fear as she parted with Dumagan.
