I felt my stomach growl for the 5th time on this four hour trip. This man must live in the middle of nowhere! I hadn't seen another house for miles! Or maybe that's what he planned all along. To take a poor innocent girl with no family or friends to miss her! I nervously fidgeted in my seat as I thought of an escape plan before I heard him speak

"We'll be there soon chi-, I mean Rose. There should be plenty of food in the house for you to replenish yourself."

I smiled slightly at the way he spoke "Replenish? I swear sometimes you speak like you came from a different time" I giggled quietly as he scolded me from the rear view mirror. Witch Only made me laugh harder; when I regained my composure I finally got the courage to ask him a couple questions. "So Lucas? why is it that your helping me? You don't even know me." he looked at me once more in the rear view mirror before answering

"I knew your father, and I know he would want you somewhere safe."

How come I've never met you before then?"

"I've been away for a long while. I came back for personal reasons. And I so happen to meet you on my journey or should I say hit you?" I rolled my eyes at his horrible joke; my mood suddenly becaming dark as I was reminded of my father. I missed him so much; I would give anything to have my family back. Bring me back to something my father said. "Those things"

"What where those things that killed my family? I could have sworn I saw him twitch or maybe it was my imagination. My attention was stolen as we slowly turned on to a long driveway pulling into a larger house. I could tell it was old by the way the paint was faded and chipped. Standing on the porch were two men, one was an older gentleman gray hair wearing a black tux. The other was a really handsome man with long black hair down to his shoulders; he wore brown khakis with a white v neck. As we pulled to a stop I felt anxiety, I have developed almost a fear of people I didn't know. I felt my heart speed up as my palms began to sweat. I hadn't even noticed Lucas had gotten out of the car and I was opening my door . I reflexively flinched backwards as he reached for me, his face harden and then he said in a serious but gentle tone

"I would never hurt you Rose" he looked back at the two men as my eyes darted between them "Nor would I let anyone else"

I took a shaky breath then placed my hand in his, another shock running up my arm. He seemed to ignore it and helped me out of the car. We slowly walked towards the men and Lucas introducing us.

"Rose this is Joseph, he will be your driver and he also maintains the houses up keep."

He nodded as he said "It's a pleasure to be at your service ma lady"

I gave him tight smile as Lucas introduced the other stranger "This is Raven my oldest and dearest friend, he's here to help you with your-- Traumatic experience." I gave Lucas a sideways glance

"So he's my shrink"

I turned my attention to Raven as he began to laugh "Actually I'm Lucas is shrink but I'll be assisting you for a while " I gave him a sheepish grin as we began to walk into the house. The inside was completely different than what I had expected; it had almost an antique feel to it. The kitchen the dining area and a sitting chamber was located downstairs and all the bedrooms were upstairs. After a quick tour of the house Joseph showed me to my room, it was very plain with simple white walls. A bed and a couple of dressers.
