the morning incident had been a few weeks ago. after theo left, scott came over in no time with stiles at his side, who held his bad cautiously upon entering his house. if theo had left any later, he'd end up with a bat-shaped indent on his cranium, undoubtedly.

the two teenagers had done a full search and seizure as soon as they arrived, scott sniffing his way through the house and stiles being sure to peak around corners before entering a room. you felt lucky, that minutes prior you had decided to throw the shirt in the depths of your dirty hamper, throwing on something else instead.

it had taken almost an hour of convincing, but scott and stiles finally took your word for it that theo had been pushing their buttons and he had never actually gone over to your house in the first place. stiles repeated that he was convinced theo erased your memory or forced you to lie for yours, or the packs, well-being. he eventually left with his best friend instead of bothering you any more.

the weeks following were full of sneaking around, and covering it all up. he had to help you come up with excuses plenty of times, just because you ended up mixing them all together.

he had taken you on dates. they weren't extravagant, the majority of them spent at your house or in the bed his truck where your friends would not see, parked somewhere out in the woods. but you loved them, and you loved the effort he put into each one.

that's why keeping your relationship was a struggle. from the pack, from your parents, from anyone. pulling lies out of your ass to save both you and theo was getting exhausting– and with stiles a damn near detective, difficult. a part of you just wanted to blurt it out and see how they'd react, but you knew it wouldn't be fun.

you and theo couldn't be together at school, unless you found an empty classroom or janitor's closet to sneak into. but, you did see him in the hallways, lockers no more than a few students away. a couple of times you had caught him peering around them just to see you, just to admire.

now, you were at your locker, and you knew he was watching. but stiles was at your side, and you averted your attention to him instead. it didn't take a supernatural creature to tell that theo's chest was filling with jealousy, unable to look away.

he kept his eyes on you as you laughed at something stiles had said, that he didn't find quite as funny. stiles stumbled over his words as he complimented you, and you raised your eyebrows in surprise, thanking him. he seemed pleased with himself.

you were thinking about theo, feeling his stare burn into your back. you tried to contain your smile as your heart sped up, you knew he could hear it, too.

the warning bell rang, and you bid stiles a goodbye as he ran off to the class he'd forgotten about, on the other side of the school. you watched him at first, but your eyes wandered over to theo, who was glaring at the boy as he turned the corner. you smirked triumphantly to yourself as you shut your locker, walking the opposite way.

lunch rolled around, and you sat at your usual table with your friends by your side. liam stopped in, skipping his class well against scott's glare of disapproval from the lunch line. malia sat next to him, across from you whilst stiles and lydia were at both of your sides.

theo was across the room, leaning against the vending machine as he watched you. normally, he'd leave for the lunch period, not having anywhere to sit, but that day he chose to stay. he chose to watch as you spoke and giggled with stiles as if it meant nothing, but it meant everything to theo that you were happy with the stilinski boy at your side. he could feel his anger rising.
