Chapter 12: Danny

~Ray's Pov~

"Thank you, come again," it's been three months since Zack and I have tried to start a new life together, as friends. Zack stays and helps Gray with stuff back at home(church). I think he helps with setting up decorations for Sunday ceremonies and funerals. While I was able to get a job here, working as a server at this ramen place. Once in a while I would take some ramen home for Zack cause he would ask for it. 

"How he uses me~," as I look at the time, I realized my shift was about to end. I get out of work at 4:30, right now its 4:27. I go to the back and change back into my regular clothes. I walk towards my boss and wave goodbye as I walk towards the door.
"Ahh Rachel, wait???" I turn to my boss walk towards me. My boss is 75 years old and has worked at this restaurant for 60 years and continues to work and serve happy people. His noodles are the best in the city and the restaurant continues to be filled with people.
"Yes boss?" He pulls an envelope out of his pocket.
"Here my dear, it's your monthly payment and some noodles for the family," I couldn't help but smile and now.
"Thank you, sir," I took both items and then leave after saying bye again. I get on my bike and ride back to the church. Usually it takes a 15-minute ride there. Sometimes due to traffic, it can take 30 minutes.

Once I reach the church I see a group of 3 kids, most likely high-schoolers circling a kid and Zack. I quickly get off my bike and run towards them, but then someone tries to punch Zack. Zack was able to dodge and instead he punched the kid.
"ZACK!!!" Zack turns to me and his eyes widen. As he was looking at me someone else tries to hit him but Zack blocks it and punches the other kid.
"Fuck, make a run for it!!!" one of them call. Immediately the 3 kids make a run for it and I walk towards Zack.

"What happened?" I ask.
"Those kids were fucking picking on Tony here!!!"
"But you didn't need to beat them up,"
"Um miss," I then turn to the boy that Zack was protecting.
"Yes?" I respond. He had glasses and was fit but barely had enough muscle to beat someone.

"Zack was only helping me, please don't get mad at him," I couldn't help but know that Zack was only helping.
"It's okay Tony, I won't," I say as I smile at him, "why don't you head home now, I need to talk to Zack about a few things."
"Okay," he then waves bye at both of us and leaves.

"Hmm, the Isaac Foster helping a young nerd," I say as I laugh at him.
"Oh shut it tiny,"
"Hey, I grew a few inches over the few months,"
"Whatever, did you bring any food back??" He asks me.
"Of course," I then walk back to my bike as I grab the bag with the noodles and my money.
"Oh hell yeah," Zack says happily as a takes the bag from me. I grab my bike and walk it the rest of the way. As I started walking, Zack grabbed my arm and held my hand. I saw that he was just in a good mode. I couldn't help but blush.

"So who were those kids?" I ask him.
"Those were kids that bully Tony, they were trying to gang up on us but I was able to scare those fuckers away heh,"
"Language,"
"I don't give a fuck," he says as he laughs.
"Whatever, well I'm going back to our room so I can take a shower," I say as I leave my bike next to the door.
"Okay," Zack says as we both head through the back door. When we let go of each other's hands, I was sad that it didn't continue but I ignored it. Zack stays in the kitchen and I walk to the room. I grab an extra pair of clothes and a towel. I walk into the bathroom and lock the room behind me. I turn the knob for the water to start running. As the water runs, I strip my clothes off and get in the shower.

Once I finished, I jump out and change into the other pair of clothes. I walk out and place my dirty clothes in a hamper.

Knock, knock

I  walk toward the door and open to see Gray.
"Oh, good evening Gray,"
"Good evening Rachel, how are you?"
"I'm doing well, thank you,"
"Isaac wanted me to inform you that he would like to talk to you privately outside on the lakeside," I felt a warmth feeling flow through my body again but soon faded.
"Okay, thank you Gray. I will head over there right now," he nods and then leaves. I put on my shoes and walk outside to the lakeside that is behind the church. The sun was slowly fading to the other side of the world. I sat up in the hill that stands before the lake that contains all these cute koi fish.

Tap tap

"Zac-" I turn to find Danny instead of Zack.
"Yo Ray,"
"What do you want Danny,"
"Why do you have to be so cruel Rachel??"
"Let's just start with this Danny, I don't fully trust you especially..."
"Especially what Rachel???" he says with a grin.
"Especially when your name was in Eboshi's book, you and Zack were the only ones on that page. If I recall from what it said on your side, it said that you left the orphanage 15 years before I got there. Not only that on my profile it said that you had attempted to adopt me but failed to, why???"

"Why?!?" Danny immediately starts laughing. I had the urge to punch him but knew that it will only worsen this problem.
"Well, of course, Rachel I would be happy to explain, what saddens me is that you don't remember me," my eyes immediately widen.
"What?!"
"Oh my little Rachel, little Rachel, I would be the one who would come and hang out with you when your we're a baby and was one your dads best friends until your dad made sure he kept me away from you,"
"What are you talking about?!" I say with anger in my voice.
"Well the truth is Rachel, I fell in love with you but your father made it impossible for me to see you again, so I had to make him suffer," I knew that this wasn't going to end well so I held my knife that I usually keep with me and made sure to have it ready in case Danny charged me.
"What did you do to my dad???"

"I was the one who told on your dad when he went against his boss orders during the mafia attacks," I felt a whole shock between my body, along with anger, "but I didn't stop there I was the one who told your mom about Eboshi's orphanage and had her send you there so I could later get you to keep you for myself heh... HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!" as he laughed, I had a flashback of past moments that drowned my mind and my heart dropped. "Sadly I couldn't get you due to Gray not working there anymore-"
"You started all this... YOU'RE THE REASON WHY MY LIFE BECAME POINTLESS AND MISERABLE AN-" I stopped and realized it wasn't all that bad cause I met Gray who is very kind and caring. And of course, I met Zack. Though Zack and I met in the weirdest way, he helped me through a lot of things when I was feeling sad.
"He's my friend," I then stare at Danny with confidence knowing, in the end, it wasn't that bad.
"Yeah, you might have screwed up my life but I have Zack who will always be there for me and I will always be there for him. So you know what Danny, thank you for everything because you have shown me the better part of life. Because, I love... I love Zack," immediately Danny's face changed and he was mad.

"You...YOU SHOULD LOVE ME NOT HIM...ME!!!" he then charged me with something in his hand.
"Shit" I quickly took out my knife and was able to stab Danny on his chest but he pushed me down. I tried to stab him again but he put a handkerchief over my mouth and I immediately became sleepy.
"N~No..."
"Goodnight my princess,"

"Zack..."

~Zack's POV~

"Shit I'm late," I say out loud.
"Don't worry Isaac, it's only been 15 minutes," Gray tells me.
"But it's horrible to make someone wait, especially..."
"Especially what Isaac???"
"Um nothing," I quickly grab the food tray and walk out.
"Good luck Isaac,"
"Thanks old man," I then continue walking and I felt my whole body on fucking fire, but a good warm feeling type of shit. As I walked to the back I find the hill empty. Usually, Ray is here, sitting and waiting for me.
"Maybe she hasn't come ye-" I find a knife on the floor with blood on it. I drop the whole fucking tray and grab the knife.
"RACHEL!!!!"
"RAY THIS IS NOT FUCKING FUNNY COME OUT!!!" SHIT FUCK SHIT FUCK why?
