1. The Life of a Receptionist

It was a normal day in the Office... well, for me at least. I worked as a receptionist and I thankfully wasn't getting much calls today so I kept looking at the clock. 𝟛:𝟛𝟞 is read. I rolled my eyes and starting clicking my ballpoint pen.

"Would you please stop clicking your pen Y/n" Said Jungkook, he was in a middle of a sales call clearly not very patient today.

I rolled my eyes again, not actually very patient myself. I had nothing to do so I spinned in my office chair. Right when I was about to heave a deep sigh someone opened the door from the break room.

Taehyung walked back to his desk, which was thankfully the closest to my reception desk. Right when he sat down Jungkook scooted closer to Taehyung, and they were chatting like they usually do. I honestly didn't like when people don't get stuff done but when Jungkook was talking to Taehyung, it gave me a chance to admire Taehyung.

You see, even since Taehyung started working here I had developed an interest in him. I mean- who wouldn't though? Even the way he laughs warms my heart. Jungkook and Taehyung were high school buddies, they were so close they decided to work in the same Office. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they're married at the same time-

"Alright guys, I have a announcement! Everyone to the meeting area." Our boss Namjoon said loudly clapping his hands to get us moving.

Namjoon walked in the meeting room where we all sat, he began talking. "Alright everyone! Its a nice day today am I right? The suns out and th-"

"Just get to the point, I didn't come hear to talk about the weather." Said Yoongi coldly. He usually doesn't have patience for the people here. I think he sees this as get done and get paid.

Namjoon nods embarrassed and continues, "Uh- so as I was saying, we have a big announcement! We are going to be adding a new microwave and I have some cookies for having such good sales these days!" He does Jazz hands before leaving the Meeting Room to grab the cookies I assumed.

Everyone including Taehyung started chatting with other people. My best-friend Amelia leaned over from behind me and poked my head. I turned around knowing it was her.

"So.. we have a new microwave... Pretty great huh?" She says smiling trying to start conversation.

"Yeah I mean- i'm not really surprised after the last one caught on fire randomly... Still don't know the full story to that" I laughed.

Suddenly Hoseok, another salesman from the Office joins in our conversation.

"I know what happened, Jimin was heating up his spaghetti and then- boom! He forgot the fork was still inside. And he only realized it when it was too late." He made a boom with his hands to prove his point.

Jimin overheard and rolled his eyes. "Ok, first of all that was an accident, and second of all Jungkook totally put that in there- not me."

"Yah!" Jin said, "Just so you know I couldn't microwave my ramen for five days! FIVE days! So what did I eat instead? Cereal! Cold, tasteless cereal."

"Excuse me! I let you borrow my Lucky Charms and this is what I get? I wish I picked out all the marshmallows!" I said offended, I didn't let just anyone have my not tasteless at all cereal.

Namjoon came back before Jin could respond. He opened the wrapping to reveal chocolate chip cookies.

"I hope you like them! They were the cheapest I could find at the store.." The last part Namjoon only murmured to himself.

I leaned closer to Jin and I whispered in his ear, "You're never having my Lucky Charms again." I tried to point it across as a threat but Jin only scoffed and whispered, "They are just Lucky Charms Y/n." I moved my head back so he could see my offended expression. "They were the Honey Clover Lucky Charms.." I said. "If they ain't the Magical Unicorn Lucky Charms I don't want em'." He said crossing his arms indicating the conversation was over. I just rolled my eyes leaning back to look at Namjoon getting ready to pass the cookies to everyone. I noticed Taehyung was staring at me, so I quick brushed my face to make sure there wasn't anything on me.

"Alright now-" Right when he was about to walk to us he dropped the cookies on the floor. Totally flipped over and all over the ground. I cringed but felt empathy for poor Namjoon. I could see the disappointment in his face. "Guess there isn't going to be cookies.." I sighed disappointed. Taehyung says, "Y/-". Jungkook quickly dashes to the cookies like lightning and picked up like 5 broken cookies and stuff it in this mouth.

"Ew Jungkook" Said Melanie, she was also a staff here but... "Five second rule, duh." Jungkook says like we were the idiots before picking up another cookie and eating it. "Uhh.. I think the cookie you just picked up was there for more then five seconds." That was Ollie, she got the most work done here, she was also Jungkooks obvious crush..  "I mean who's counting right.." He chuckles.

Namjoon comes back from spacing out and says, "Jungkook get off the floor, the microwave has already been placed and I hope you guys like it." He puts his hands together gives us a smile and nods for us to leave. Yoongi happily gets out of that hectic area.

𝟜:𝟚𝟝 The clock read. I smiled before quickly getting out my seat, I put my bag over my shoulder and held my coat. I sighed ready to go to my apartment. I turned to see Jungkook hanging over Ollies desk, "Cmon Ollie! me, you, and Shrek 2 what could be better?" He winked. Ollie only rolled her eyes and headed out. Jungkook sighed rejected once again.

I look over to Taehyungs desk expecting to see him there. I was disappointed because I usually like seeing him before leaving but not today I guess. I start walking downstairs and towards the exit when I spot Taehyung running to the opposite end of the door panting holding something in his hand.

"T-Taehyung?" I gasp no expecting to see him before I leave. I could tell he was running as he pants handing me the wrapped item in his hand. He leans on the door studying me as I unwrap it. Inside it was a one sugar cookie. I smiled at it before looking up at Taehyung. He looks at me too and we both smile at each other. "I saw you were upset we couldnt have cookies so I got one for you.. I know theyre your favorite."

I gain confidence and stand on my toes and lean over to give him a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you Taehyung." I say before walking towards my car. As I sat down I sighed and looked back at the untouched cookie, and blush. I started the engine and left my workplace.

Something I knew for sure was that I had started to like Taehyung

Y/n - The Receptionist (Serves visitors by greeting, and directing them appropriately. Notifies company personnel of arrival. Informs visitors by answering or referring inquiries.)

Taehyung - Salesman (sell retail products, goods and services to customers. Sales representatives work with customers to find what they want, create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process.)
