4. Hot Pink Glitter Nail Polish

I stared at the mirror telling myself the same thing ive repeated plenty of times already to encourage me.

"You are going to ask Taehyung on a date."

Then I glare at my reflection threatening it- to disobey me.

"You're going to ask Taehyung on a-  OH SHOOT IM LATE."

"Im transfering the call right now sir." I say to the client on the other side of the phone before ending the call. Then I turn to see Melanie leaning at my desk.

"Need something Melanie?" I ask politely, if there is someone that i'm the least close to, its Melanie. Its nothing personal but she's very chatty and i'm more of an introvert.

"Oh my god I have really good news.." She leans right to my ear and whispers it to me trying to make sure we weren't being heard.

She waved her hand at me towards the break room. I assume were going to talk there. I goes through all the situations that could play out. Is she going to murder me? Or- or shave my eyebrows?

I give her a suspicious look before following her to the break room. There she leaned closer to my ear again to whisper.

"Melanie, I think its ok to just tell me. The doors in the break room are sound proof." She rolls her eyes and gives me more personal space thankfully.

"Ok, so.. I know you're like a receptionist so you know a lot about other people." I cock an eyebrow at that.

"How is being a receptionist make me know more about-" Before I finished my sentence she put a finger between my lips.

"Shh sweetie," I roll my eyes again but she continues, "So I actually like Tae, you feel like the type of person who would know what to do." She gives me a pout.

"Uhh-" I didn't know what to say, did she know I also liked him? What am I doing? "Well I know he really likes art and classical music, how about you give him something related to those? He also loves ties!" Always a bridesmaid never the bride.

She looks at me confused, "So you're thinking that I should give him a tie?" She scrunches her nose and shakes her head. I tried.

"Hes not my dad Y/n. Here, I have an idea.." She smiles excited to tell me her gift.

"How about I give him.." She gives a long pause for my non-existent excitement.

"Pink nail-polish!" And with that she grabbed it out of her purse and presented it on her hand. It was a hot pink glitter nail-polish. Right when I saw it, I realized...

"What? Melanie that polish looks like the one thats on your nails right now." I say pointing at the hot pink glitter nails.

She looks at me like I was the weird one before explaining what I was confused about.

"If I get it for him, he will always paint my nails for me!" She blushes and I suddenly want want to leave. So I make up a plan.

"Oh i'm expecting a call right now.. yeah. I have to go but good idea." I awkwardly say getting up from my seat and throwing a thumbs up sign in approval.

Right when I shut the door, I sigh in relief.

I was going to walk to my Reception desk when I saw Jimin, Jungkook and Hoseok waiting for me at my desk too.

I sigh, "Need something?" Just wanting to go back to work.

Jungkook speaks up, "Yeah! What did you and Melanie talk about?" I wasn't surprised that he asked. Jungkook always wants to know office drama.
