The Nobody

Chapter 15

"I know this is going to sound crazy to you guys. But I need your guys help with something. I've been having dreams lately about this world. I used to think that my mind made it all up. That it was just my way to escape from reality. But then things started happening.

Now I believe that it is real. That its a world that is reflected as our world. Apparently their world is falling apart. They have been asking for my help for quite some time. They told me that I could count on you guys to help me.

I need help saving that world. I know this is crazy and it all sounds nuts. But if you saw the way I saw their world. Then you would understand where I am coming from," I say to them. I wait for them to say something. At first no one speaks. I wait for them to run out of this room.

But no one makes a move. I end up playing with my thumbs and thinking about what Andy said. Then when it looked like no one was going to move or talk. That is when their leader steps up. "Please don't tell me that this is a joke that you are pulling on us," Sam says a little annoyed.

I take a step back and my back hits the wall. I look around to see everyone's reaction. Some of them looked angry some of them looked shocked. The rest just stared at me. I take off running out of the room.

*Andy's point of view*

I watch Ruby run out. I take a deep breath and I stand up. I go to the front of the room and I look at them all. "I know it sounds crazy and nuts but she is telling the truth. If you guys want to come to my place I can show you proof. But first I gotta go find Ruby.

I really don't care one way or another. If you guys believe or not. But I won't stand for anyone to make Ruby run away like that. She was really scared that you guys wouldn't listen or believe her. Now I can understand why. I'll leave my address for you guys. It's up to you rather you come by or not," I say.

I leave a piece of paper with my address on the table. I leave the room and I take off running trying to find Ruby.

*Rubies Point Of View*

I hide in the girls bathroom I wrap my arms around myself I feel myself shake. I try to stop the shaking by holding onto myself tighter. I felt so stupid thinking it would go well and that they would believe me. But that's what I get I should have shown them proof first before blurting all of that stuff out. I play the reactions of everyone's faces over and over in my head. I felt tears slip down my face. 

I was just about to start crying when I hear my name being called out. I look up and wait I hear my name being called out again. I could tell who it was so I stand up and leave the girls bathroom. I follow Andy's voice and it wasn't long before I found him. I run towards him and throw myself into his arms. He catches me and holds me close. 

That was when I felt the tears starting to flow again. I hold onto him tightly and just cry it all out. After a few moments I stop crying and I look up at him. I know that I looked like crap but I don't care. He looks at me and kisses my forehead then hands me a tissue I use it and then I pull away. I walk to the nearest bathroom and I clean my face up. After I am done I go back to Andy. 

He looks at me when I come back into the room it is silent between us for a bit before he opened his mouth up. "I talked to them after you left and hopefully they will come back to my place to see the proof," he says to me. I smile while I look up at him. 

"Thank you I really appreciate that," I say. He smiles back at me then he takes my hand and pulls me after him. As he begins to walk away. "Where are you taking me?" I asked him curiously. He doesn't say anything and just pulls me along but then I stop and I don't budge. He realizes that I am not going to move. So he looks back at me and frowns. "We are going home to wait for them to show up. 

You still want their help with this am I right?" he asked me. My eyes widen in shock before I start laughing and smiles really big. "Yes I know its stupid and they probably won't show up but I want to wait for them regardless just in case," I say with a blush creeping over my face. He smiles and pulls me close to him. 

He wraps his arms around my waist and rests his forehead against mines. I hold my breath in wondering what he was going to do. He leans in closer and brushes his lips lightly against mines. I gasp out loud a little and that is when he presses his lips against mines and kisses me. I freeze at first not expecting the kiss. But I find myself kissing him back and we just stand that way just kissing. After a bit he pulls away looking down at me a little. 

I feel my heart racing and sputtering. I couldn't believe that he just kissed me and that I just had my first kiss. I don't speak I'm too shocked and speechless. He just looks at me studying my reaction. He seems to smile in satisfaction as if he got the right answer he has been looking for. "Why did you kiss me?" I asked above a whisper. He looks at me a moment longer not speaking. 

"Well because I like you and I thought about doing that the moment I laid my eyes on you when you got older. Let's just say I found the older Ruby both stunning and attractive. I don't regret doing it and I don't plan on taking it back either. Now lets go we can't keep the others waiting for long if they did show up," he said with a smile. I feel my head reeling on what he said and what he did. 

I follow him outside and get into his car still blushing. I brush my thumb over my slightly bruised kissed lips. Before I realized it we were back at his place and he was looking at me. I blush deeply getting out of the car I hear him chuckle as he gets out as well we go inside and we wait. At first it looked like no one was going to show up. After all Andy didn't tell me what time he told the others to be here. 

But it wasn't long before they showed up and no one was missing from the group. They were all there and accounted for. I take a deep breath grabbing Andy's hand and squeezing it tightly. I feel his fingers squeezing mines. I let him speak to the group this time. He told them to follow him. He takes us all to the room that I found and shows them the door to the other world. They all stand there and stare for a moment no one really saying anything. 

Then like before Sam stands up and speaks up for everyone in the group. "I am sorry Ruby that we didn't believe you at first. It just was too far fetched for us to believe it without there being proof. Some of the others believed it but the rest of us were skeptical about it," he says sounding apologetic. I couldn't help but feel shocked on what he said about some of them believing me. 

I step up and I look at them all with my head held high and a proud look on my face. "It is okay I reacted the same way when I first got told and shown this," I said.
