Rebecca's POV:

A ray of light rested on my eyes, waking me from a peaceful sleep. Opening my eyes to a messy room full of moving boxes, I stared at my ceiling after rubbing some sleep from my eyes. 'Today is a new day.' I thought. I glanced at my clock, and----

"Crap! I'm SO late!" I screamed. Rushing to get ready, I threw my hair into a quick poney, and grabbed my school bag. 'What happened? I had my alarm set..' I thought, just before realizing I had set it to PM instead. I ran down the stairs, almost tripping over my feet. I greeted my mom, and she turned to me with an intense aura.

"I was just about to wake you up." My mom said in a disappointed tone. She handed me a piece of toast she had originally made for herself, and told me to run to school if I had to. I had just transferred into Nekoma High School and I'm already late! 'The teacher is going to kill me... Maybe, I can blame it on the change of timezones..' I thought, running into the school entrance.

I hustled down the hallways. 'Oh shoot, what was my class number??' I thought, while I rummaged through my bag - only to find I forgot my class schedule. "Oh crap, crap, crap." I said scratching my head. I kept running down the halls and almost gave up but I ran into something... And now I'm on the floor.

I looked up from where I had fallen, only to see a shadow looming over me. She reaches out her hand and say's, "Are you okay? Sorry about that, and your toast...?"

I took the hand she offered to me, and sadly looked at the toast I could no longer eat. 'There goes my breakfast.' I thought, turning my attention back to the giant in front of me. I gripped her hand tighter and calmly asked her, "I neEd YouR hElP!" She looked at me with widened eyes."With what..?" She answered. "I need help finding my class, I'm a second year, and I just got here a few days ago, I haven't learned my way around Tokyo yet, and then me being me, I forgot-" I caught myself rambling when the girl in front of me hushed me.

"Shhh, it's okay. Just stop worrying about your inconvenience."

"So you'll help?" I said with no hesitation.

".......Sure." she answered with an eye roll.

I thanked her for her 'offered' help, and walked alongside her through the halls of Nekoma. While walking, I started to think, 'Wait, I didn't ask her name!'

"This should be where you're headed." She told me, pointing to my classroom door.

I thank her for her help once again, and just before walking into my class I hear,

grooooooooowl

Sounds like someone is hungry. I remembered I had a meat bun in my bag, and decided to give her breakfast. Even though.., I didn't have a breakfast anymore.

"Want this? It's a meat bun, don't worry I have more in my bag." I said to her, presenting her this lovely miracle of food.

"You're a savior," she said with sparkles in her eyes.

Walking into my class, I give the greeting that was asked of me by the teacher. "H-hello everyone." I say under my breath. No one knew me here since I'm a transfer. But even so, do they have to blankly stare at me like that?

"Everyone, this is Rebecca. She just transferred from America. Say hello." The teacher told the class. A very monotone 'Hello' was given from the students, and it kind of made me feel as if I wasn't welcome here. I went to my assigned seat and sat down. 'I wonder if I have already made a bad impression.' I thought, pulling out my Math book.

I looked over to my left, and saw a boy with bleached hair and brown roots. 'Should I try to make friends with the people who sit next to me?' I thought. I leaned over and tapped his shoulder to grab his Attention. "Hello. As you heard, my name is Rebecca. What's yours?" I say in a whisper. He made short eye contact, but quickly turned his attention to the floor. "K-Kozume... Kenma." He whispers back shyly. 'Already, I can tell this guy is shy. I hope I'm not bothering him. I should probably stop talking and listen to the class anyway, I mean I was already late.' I thought, turning my attention back to the teacher.
