Everyone has a soulmate, and since birth, because of sensitive connections, soulmates could always hear what each other say that is said loudly. Whatever their soulmate says, exclaims, cries, shouts, screams, (sings/speaks through a microphone) loudly, they hear it as an echo in their heads.

How loud their soulmate does this affects how their partner hears the sound. They can hear it no matter where they are.

Soulmates know that they meet when they both react to hearing each other.

It is the opposite of hearing each other's thoughts; they can only hear what their soulmate says that is loud (louder than Regular Speech), even if it is through a microphone, it is heard the way their soulmate hears it but as an echo in their heads.

On some occasions, what is said emotionally (for example, crying, pleading, etc) can be heard.

(Even if deaf, a person can hear what their soulmate says as it is an echo is their mind. If born mute, their soulmate would still hear them crying, and a person who's mute would have the condition no longer once they meet their soulmate, as it is taken away by the bond.)

The bond is almost like a call-out for soulmates to each other.
