{Yoshiro's POV}

The sound of printers and footsteps filled my workplace. Everyone busy with their tasks at hand, some getting ready to head home for the day. I'd just finished closing a case that had been going on for quite some time now. A rough divorce. Seeing many people fall out of love was really a sad, yet interesting experience. Sometimes I even question whether they actually loved each other at all, the way they act towards each other is so cruel and vulgar. I guess not everyone gets happy ending though. That's just how life works.

I'd never really had a serious relationship. I mean, sure I've had love partners, but I wasn't the type to string people along. A lot of the time, the other person would get upset with me due to me not being involved enough in our relationship. I couldn't help that my work consumed me at times. I never really cared much so it never bothered me, but....

"I'm sure he is just busy princess, chill out." Hazel sighed as she clicked away on her keyboard, flipping her brunette hair out of her blue eyes.

"It's been 3 hours. Doesn't he look at his phone throughout the day?" I pinched the bridge of my nose in frustration. I had texted Lucas, asking if he had time today to go eat after work, but he hadn't even read my message yet.

"I'm sure he has a busy life, Yoshiro. Ya know, being as cute as he is." Hazel teased as she snickered behind her computer screen. "Are you trying to start a fight with me today?" I glared at her harshly, but playfully. "When am I not." She giggled, casting me a toothy grin.

I looked back at my phone, checking one last time before deciding to go to the café myself. You know, just to make sure he's ok and all. I was kind of worried after not hearing from him for a few days after we went to eat and he got that phone call. He seemed like it really upset him, but I didn't want to interfere too much and scare him away.

I stood up abruptly, getting anxious just thinking about Lucas being upset and fighting a mental battle by himself.

"Don't scare him off~" I waved Hazel off as she rolled her eyes at me.

The strong smell of ground coffee beans hits my senses and gives me a boost of energy as I walk into the small café. Umeko was standing at the counter cleaning off the table top as she looked up and spotted me. She waved and shot me a gentle smile. "If you're looking for Lucas, he's in the back. I can go get him if you want me to?" I sighed in relief. So he was just working.

"I don't have to go back to work so I'll just stay for a bit." I sat on one of the high-top chairs at the counter as Umeko nodded and took my order. "Vanilla bean with 2 caramel pumps." She softly shouted towards the back, into the kitchen. Not too long afterwards, Lucas popped his head out of the doorway with my coffee in his hand. Our eyes met and a soft expression overtook his features.

Just seeing him made my heart swoon, though today he looked different than normal. His under eyes were darker than they usually are, his face looked tired, and I spotted a small cut that was rested on his left cheek. It looked like it had happened a couple days ago, which sparked a panic in me. Did it have anything to do with that call? My mind started to wonder to worst case scenarios.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when Lucas set the coffee down in front of me and flicked my forehead. "Hey" I pressed my hand to where he touched. "You looked grumpy." He joked, tilting his head. I swear, no matter what he does he's just so precious. His soft black hair gracefully dipped into his forest green eyes. Every time he blinked his long eyelashes casted a shadow onto his rosy cheeks. His black button up shirt, which wasn't buttoned all the way up leaving his collarbones exposed, was tucked into his black denim jeans. Everything about him was divine. Truly an angel if you ask me.
