Chapter 12

Moma's POV

I've been staring at this woman for the past five minutes. The tension was so thick you could see it. I was finally able to say that words that were stuck in my throat.
I gulped "Mom?"

Derek's POV

Everything was so confusing. The way the waitress just looked at Moma as if she knew her. The way Moma looked like she was about to crumble right there and then.

"Hello Moma" the waitress said. Wait, she actually knows her? I looked over at Moma and she was frozen. She looked as if she wanted to say something but didn't know how. She had tears in her eyes but she wouldn't let them out. She's really hates crying.

I heard Moma take a deep breath then finally..."Mom?". What the fuck?! This woman was her mother? Well she looks good for a "crackhead" I guess. Yes, Moma had told me all about her parents. What kind of a mother would leave her only child like that? Moma was a hurt and damaged child, but she wouldn't let anyone know that.

I looked over at her "Mom". She just stood there with no expression whatsoever. She looked into Moma's eyes and just broke. She cried into Moma's arms but there's something about her that seems off.

Moma's POV

She was crying in my arms. My mother, was crying in my arms. I never thought I'd see her ever again. I pushed her away from me and she looked shocked.
"Why did you leave me?" I said angrily. I could feel the lump in my throat but I was not going to give in.
She wiped her tears off and sniffed.
"Moma you saw how messed up your dad and I were. We didn't want to make your life any more miserable."
I scoffed. "Really?"
"Yes! And besides, look how well you are without us." She pinched my cheek.
"That's not the apology I was expecting." I said while rolling my eyes.
" I know, I know... so who are you living with?"
Really? That's all she wants to know? Not even a "how's school" or "how have you been?" OR "I'M SORRY FOR LEAVING YOU!"
She gulped "Okay Moma look. I know I've been a pretty crappy mom."
"Psshh you weren't a mom at all." Derek stood up and rubbed up and down my arms and whispered to me "calm down"
"Let me make it up to you? How about I come over, wherever you are staying and we'll have a mother-daughter day?"

I thought about it for a while, you know what fuck it.
"Okay. But if you fuck up or hurt me in any way...I will kill you. I'm dead serious"
"Oh Moma don't be so uptight." She clapped her hands and hugged me.

Derek dropped my mom and I home after our date. I unlocked the house and turned over to my mom.
"So...this is my house. I live here with Jenny but she isn't he-"
"You live with Jenny? Miss Mikaelson's Jenny?"
I rolled my eyes. "Let me show you around."
I gave her a mini tour and then we decided to watch tv. My mom went to the kitchen to make us dinner.
"I made your favorite!" She walked over with a bowl of casserole. "Chicken casserole" she said in a singy voice.
"'Mom, that's not my favorite anymore. In fact, it's your favorite."
"Oh yeah it is. My bad."
I dished up for myself and started eating. We started watching some cartoons, since we both enjoyed them. We watched Adventure Time for about an hour and a half then we watched Regular Show.

My mom fell asleep on the couch and I grabbed her a blanket. I switched off the tv and went to bed. I texted Derek:

Me: hey baby.
Derek😻❤️: hey wifey. Are you okay?
Me: yes I'm better now. I just left my mom sleeping on the couch😂
Derek😻❤️: yeah about that. I have a really bad feeling about her.
Me: what do you mean?
Derek😻❤️: I don't know but there's something off about her.
Me: I don't know what you're talking about. I'm going to sleep. Goodnight I love you 💗
Derek😻❤️: Goodnight baby😙❤️ I love you more.

AN: I know this chapter wasn't as long as you hoped. I also wanted it to be longer. I promise you the next chapters are going to be longer. Do you guys think that it was just a coincidence that Moma's mom was their waiter? Do you think it's a good thing that she's back?
