Chapter 13: Happy

HELLO! SORRY FOR NOT POSTING FOR A LONG TIME. WITH ALL WHAT'S HAPPENING TO THE WORLD, I HAD TO PUT THIS ASIDE FOR A LONG TIME, BUT NOW, I'M READY TO MAKE SOME MORE CHAPTERS FOR YOU GUYS. EVEN THOUGH I DID THIS FOR FUN, I'VE COME TO REALIZE THE RESPONSIBILITIES AS A WRITER HERE, SO THIS IS NOT GONNA BE THE LAST TIME YOU'LL HEAR FROM ME. HOPE YOU LIKE THE CHAPTER. ENJOY!

LUCY POV

The weekend has ended, meaning it was time to go back to the house again with Natsu. It was great being with my girlfriends, but now I have to be with HIM again. I know we're married, but he doesn't act like a husband. He's so blatantly confused when love has confronted him. He doesn't know anything romantic.

I cleaned up the house from what we did from the past days. Of course, the girls helped me clean up too, and now i was waiting for him to come back. Since I was just waiting for him, I thought of making some lunch. After getting the ingredients for buffalo wings, I heard the doorbell ring.

NATSU POV

I got a ride back to the house by Gray's mother, Mika. When I got out, Mika also got out. I was confused as to why she would go out though. "Oh, you don't have to help me, miss. I got this." i said as i get my things from the back. "Of course i'm not gonna help you. I know you can handle your own stuff." she replied. "I just wanna see Lucy."

That gave a bit of a chill in my spine. I quickly dropped my stuff beside the curb and blocked her from the door. "Uhhh, why do you need to see her?" I said nervously with a bead of sweat on the side of my forehead.

She [pushed me aside and said, "Don't worry, I won't tell Gray and the others. I just want to see the ring on the finger." she pointed to my hand and said, "by the way, wear the ring now." I looked at my hand and obeyed her command. I got the ring from my wallet, there's a secret pouch in my wallet for the ring so that it doesn't fall. When I was wearing my ring, I heard the doorbell ring. That gave me a bigger chill down the spine.

"Coming." a muffled voice said inside the house. I tried to hide Ms. Mika behind the bushes or behind me but she just simply put me aside. I never thought she would be this strong. The door opened and we saw Lucy in an apron holding a spatula. We probably had the same face when she saw Ms. Mika: shocked.

LUCY POV

The feeling of me opening the door and not expecting someone other than Natsu or one of the girls for forgetting something was full of calm but seeing Gray's mother was something definitely...

I saw her eyes glow up, gasping and acting like a fangirl or something was definitely weird, but in that moment, I froze up. She then hugged me and said, "so it was true!" she was jumping up and down and it was getting more uncomfortable for me while she was hugging me and jumping at the same time.

I got out of her grasp and said, "wait, you know?!" i said with surprisement. She nodded in response. "Your mother told me." she said as she walked inside the house, leaving me and Natsu with a surprising look on our faces. We were looking at each other, trying to figure out what is happening. But when i saw Natsu, he just put down a deep sigh.

Natsu went back to get his stuff from the curb, while I was keeping company with Ms. Mika. she was looking around the house in amazement. "Wow, I can't believe Layla bought this place for you two." she said while looking around. When Natsu got back from getting his stuff, he whispered, "What now? Ms. Mika looks like she doesn't want to go anytime soon." I replied, "Don't worry about it. I'll handle this." as i was about to say something, she said, "Alright, I'm going to leave you two lovebirds here to have some good moments together." she winked at the both of us standing beside each other, blushing as a result at what she meant by "moments."

She waved goodbye as she started her car and went back to her home. When she was out of sight, we let out a deep and loud sigh and went back to our house. The silence filled the room as I went back to the kitchen making buffalo wings, but then I heard the door open. I went to see who opened it, and it was Natsu dressed up to go somewhere.

"Where are you going? I'm making buffalo wings." i said to make him stay. But he replied, "It's fine. I already ate at Gray's." And leaves without another word. Now I'm stumped as to whether to make buffalo wings for myself or for the both of us. I said to myself, "Eh, he can make his own food." so, I got enough ingredients to make buffalo wings for myself. "Geez, doesn't even want to stay for my cooking." I murmured to myself.

NATSU POV

I went outside to clear my mind and ponder on what and why is this happening to my life. "I don't get it." I said in my thoughts. "I don't like her, and she doesn't like me, so why are both of us getting married?" I keep speaking my mind over the fact that someone like Gajeel and Levy should be married or something because of how close they've become over the past month, or Erza and that blue-haired guy. She said that he was her childhood friend, and maybe there's something between them two. Or Gray and Juvia, he doesn;t really show it, but me and the other boys can see that he's falling for her bit by bit because of what she's been doing to him and being so straightforward. Then I thought of me being straightforward to Lucy. Should I be straightforward to her about what I feel about her?" I said out loud to myself.

Alone, I was walking to analley I rarely go. What I didn't realize was that alley is where the stray cats were. There was a variety of colours in the cats, there was orange, white, brown, black, but the most surprising one was there was a blue one, but then I saw the other cats doing something to the other cats, looks like they were hurting the blue cat, so I tried to scare the cats by throwing a can at them, causing the other cats to scatter and flee while the blue cat was in a ball position, whimpering.

I slowly approached if the cat was okay, it looked up and gave me the baby eyes that you usually see for them to feel pity for them, and it worked well for me. I slowly carried him and for once, he didn't bite or scratch me with its claws. "There, there. It's alright. They're gone. You're safe with me." The cat made eye contact with me again and it was giving me a happy face, like it was smiling at me. That made my day and forget about what was happening in my life. So, I let him down and left him there, which I presume it was his home, and went back home.

After walking back for about 10 minutes, I made it back to the house. But, what I didn't notice was someone was following me back, and it was the blue cat. "Why did you follow me back?" i said to the blue cat, and it replied with a meow. (like I was waiting for it to talk to me or something.)

Lucy saw me outside and greeted me, then she was curious about what I brought back from home. "Why do you have a blue cat follow you home?" she asked me, but I just shrugged at her. "Maybe it was the fact that I kinda saved him from other cats hurting him."

"To be honest, I don't mind having a pet in the house." she said, which was something i never thought she would say, making me look at her with a surprised face. "Really? He does make anyone happy with his smile." I said as I raised him to get a better look at him. "That's not a bad name." she said. "What's not a bad name?" I asked. "Happy."

I nodded in agreement. "So it's official." I said as I raised Happy higher. " we now have Happy the Cat." and it gave us the biggest smile.
