Chapter 23: Mixed Signals

Natsu POV

She puts herself on my lap, facing me, our faces being inches from one another. My heart was already beat really fast when she was already cuddling on my lap, now I see her face, getting redder by the moment. I could feel her breath in my face a little as she breathes. I can also feel her heart beating really fast as well.

My mind was racing really fast on what to do because this is probably every man's dream, is to have a beautiful girl cuddle to you and being intimate with one another. I don't know what her intentions are, but with this stunt, it's slightly getting obvious what she wants...

Lucy POV

I don't know why I would do something like this, especially to someone like Natsu. Normally you would do something like this to someone that you want to be intimate with someone, so is my heart saying...

Before I can find a reason as to why I would this, Natsu whispered to me, "Why?"

I was shocked and replied, "What do you mean?" I felt my breathing was a bit faster now and my heart was going faster by the moment.

He then grabbed my thighs and dragged my hips a bit closer to his. That made me felt weak and weird for some reason. His head was getting even closer to the point where our foreheads were touching.

He finally then made the move and went for a kiss, but all of a sudden, my instincts kicked in and pushed him away from me. He was really shocked about what I did, considering I did ruin that intimate moment.

"I'm sorry, I don't think it's something we need to do right now." I said. That answer gave him a confused look.

"What do you mean?" he said so sorrowful, "I thought that was a great time to do something like that." He then tried to grab my chin, but I immediately grabbed his hand and said, "You just have to be patient," I said in a bit of a playful tone, and stood up and went to the bedroom.

I immediately laid in bed, covering myself in the comforter, and getting a pillow and outting it on my face. I then screamed as loud as I could, vut because of the pillow, it was really muffled, yer still somewhat loud.

"What am I doing? That was the best time to do that." I said to myself. "Lucy Heartfillia, you are so stupid."

Knowing what I did, the aura between us will be very weird for the next weeks.

And it did, for the next week, they didn't talk to each other, and they didn't even want to be in the same room alone, so Natsu was going out nore with the boys.

Natsu POV

This past week gave me a long tine to figure out what I did wrong in that moment. Was I too much? Was it foo fast? It has been only four months but I thought that was enough, clearly it wasn't. She left me on the couch completely confused as to why she do me like that, leave me on the couch when had that intimate moment together.

I kept pondering about that while and the boys were hanging out, Gray noticed me being really quiet than normal.

"Hey, you all right? You're not you right now." He asked me.

"Don't worry." I replied, "Something's bothering me, and I can't stop thinking about it."

"Huh? What's something that someone like you, Natsu Dragneel, bothered about?" Gajeel butted in. "You've been together with that Lucy person for quite a while now, I bet she's the reason." He added, "She's been a nuisance lately, huh? Unlike a particular person in my life lately..." He said as the girls come into the classroom.
