Matthew P.O.V
Its a Saturday and I wake my kids, give them all baths and we head downstairs for breakfast. We have pancakes for breakfast since its a weekend.
I clean up after my children finish their breakfast and I proceed to the living room where my children are sitting watching their favorite cartoon. I join them on the couch and they all snuggle to me. We watch cartoons for close to an hour. We then go to the backyard so that the children can run about and play on their swings and slides.
At around 11:30am,I lead them back to the house to their playroom. I put quisha down for a nap and started on making lunch.
We had lunch, cleaned, took a nap, watched TV and before we knew it,it was dinner time. We all went upstairs. I bathed and changed the children and did the same for my self. When we were done,we headed out the door for our usual Saturday dinner dates, just the four of us.
We went to Leon's favorite restaurant since last week we were at Toya's.
The restaurant was warm and cozy, beautiful decor and smiling servers.
We were led to our table by a friendly hostess, she helped the children up to their seats and brought a high chair for quisha. A few seconds later, menus were placed before us and ordered for us all.
As we sat chatting with my children, quisha started getting fussy. I thought it was because of the high chair,I got her out but her cries got louder and louder.
Fellow diners started giving me death glares. I bounced her on my legs, patted her back, checked her diaper but she wouldn't keep down.
Then I felt someone touch my shoulder and ask."Is everything okay sir?",the person asked with a concerned voice.
"uhmm.. Everything is...",I replied
Turning my attention from quisha to the person who was talking to me but I didn't finish my statement as I saw who it was "Josie?",I said."oohh.Hi Mr Bent....sorry Matthew",She said
"What are you doing here?",I asked.
Surprised to see her.I didn't think I would see her again.
And God She was beautiful just like that night. Her brown hair, her pearl white teeth, her well situated curves and her blue eyes,I would get lost in them.I stared at here before I realised she was saying something and I tried to brush off my thoughts and give her my attention.
"I am having dinner with my friend over there, but this little princess' cries got to me so i decided to check",she replied.
"Its now two days and she is cranky. I cant seem to quiet her",I told her in a sad tone.
"Can I hold her?",she offered.
I nodded and handed her the crying baby.I don't know what happened to my policy of not letting strangers near my child, but at this point I didn't care.
She cradled her to her chest and whispered in her ear as she rubbed her back. She started quieting down and slowly started dozing.
"I don't know what's happening with her but this is the second time I cant quiet her and a stranger does",I said shaking my head in disbelief.
"Its thing with babies, she is probably missing something. Where is her mom?if you don't mind me asking",she asked.
As much as I wanted to ignore the question,I found myself telling her," She is not in the picture. She left".Having an expressionless face as I answered her.
"Oh am sorry for asking",She said apologetically.
Trying to make her not feel guilty,I said,"No worries I get asked that alot of times. You can give her to me and finish your dinner since she is sleeping",I continued.
