chapter Nineteen

The next morning everything went on normally. Me and Matthew ignored what happened the previous night. I guess we both preferred to act as if nothing happened.

"Anyway nothing happened,we were just close,too close almost kissing but nothing happened",I tried to convince myself.

The week went by fast and it was the weekend already. I just couldn't wait to get my day off and spend it with Sherry and my family. We talked everyday but God I missed them so much.

"Good Morning Josie",Matthew snapped me out of my thoughts as he joined me at the table for breakfast.
The children were still sleeping because it was the weekend and I let them sleep in.

Trust me I couldn't help but stare at the handsome creature coming to sit by me. Matthew was wearing sweat pants with no shit,showing his well outlined abs,his hair was messy but the sexy messy. I wish I could pass my hands through his hair.  As he spoke ,my eyes went to his lips. The lips I almost felt on my mine some nights back. Atleast he was checking me out too.Then I quickly manged to say something before it turns awkward.

"Good Morning Matthew,slept well?",I replied.

He just  nodded and it was silent again.

"What...",we both spoke at the same time.

"Oohh go on",I told Matthew.

"Since its the weekend and you are off what are your plans?",He asked.

"I will be spending the weekend with my bestie and my family",I replied stuffing my mouth with some more eggs.

He again just nodded and continued eating. Silence again.

"What are you and the children going to do this weekend",I asked breaking the silence.

"I guess we will go to the park,watch some movies,and the zoo too,its been long since we were there",he replied.

"I know they will love it. Those babies adore you",I assured him gently rubbing his shoulder.

"I hope so. At times I feel like a failure but only God knows how I what them to have their heart's desire",he replied sadness lingering in his voice.

Just as I was about to say something,out conversation was cut off by Quisha's wails alerting us that she was awake.

I rushed upstairs and picked her up from her crib. She quieted down when she realized It was me holding her. I kissed her chubby cheeks and got her ready before heading downstairs to feed her.

Quisha's wails had woken up Toya and Leon and Matthew was helping them get ready. I fed Quisha and placed her in high chair as I cleaned the dishes we used.

"Josie Josie...",i heard little feet running towards me calling out to me.

"Good Morning babies,how did you sleep?",I said as I hugged each of the children.

" Good ,but daddy lie ",Leon said scrunching his face as though he was about to cry.

"Yes,daddy says you are not going to be with us for the weekend",Toya justified.

"Ohh babies,its just today and trust me tomorrow before your bedtime I will be here to tuck you in",I replied kissing their foreheads.

"You promise",they both said hopefully.

"I promise.Now can you two have breakfast before I leave?",I said tickling them as I carried each of them to their chairs at the table.

As they had breakfast,Matthew watched them as I got ready to leave.
