Chapter 24: Smithy

Nattie and Alora had then come running down the stairs, rushing past Ornn in the hallway as they made their way to the living room. 

Ornn said nothing and only disappeared from view as he turned a corner.

"What's up with him? He looks...worried?" Alora said to Nattie.

"I've got no clue." Nattie replied as she made her way to the living room, Alora following behind. 

Nattie was the first one to appear from the doorway, followed shortly by Alora. Both of which had been wearing the same clothes as Antoinette.

"Ah, you're both here. Perfect timing!" Dagothur said as he saw the two girls pop into view. 

"But, why are we all wearing the same clothes?" Antoinette asked. 

The three girls were all wearing identical clothing, a leather belt that had two satchels fastened to it with a sheath for a small dagger on the backside. A leather vest with a plain cloth shirt that covered their entire upper body. Followed by pants that were made of a flexible material that looked similar to jeans. All three wore steel-tipped boots that were designed for rough outdoor use. 

"I've asked Asteris to take you three around to some smithing workplaces to find some weapons for you all." Dagothur replied.

"You guys ready to go?" Asteris asked as she stood up and walked towards the entrance of the room. 

"Yeah...I think?" Nattie said as she traced Asteris' footsteps, followed by Antoinette and Alora.

Dagothur then got up and followed the group to the door of the mansion, waving goodbye to them as they walked through the front yard. 

"Stay safe!" He shouted out to them.

Asteris turned around and gave him a wave goodbye as she led the group through the bustling and busy city.

"Okay...let's find Alora a weapon first..." Asteris said as she held her hand to her chin, thinking deeply on where to go. 

"We're getting me a sword, right?" Alora asked.

"That's the plan." Asteris replied.

"What type of sword?" Alora asked.

"Well, what type of sword do you want? Broadsword? Longsword? Shortsword?" Asteris replied.

"Hmm...I'll think about it..." Alora said as she too was now deep in thought.

"Well, while you're thinking, how about you Antoinette? Want to go get your bow first?" Asteris asked.

"Oh, sure!" Antoinette replied.

"We'll get you a basic wooden bow first, nothing too fancy just yet. You still have to learn the basics. After that, you can get into heavier bows and different arrow tip weights." Asteris said.

"What about me! What about me!" Nattie said as she wanted a weapon as well. 

"Well...Dagothur told me you didn't show any particular fighting style...so he wasn't sure of what weapon you'd be best suited to." Asteris replied.

"Oh..." Nattie said as she frowned a bit.

"Do you have any particular weapon in mind that you'd like?" Asteris asked.

"Mm...I'm not sure..." Nattie replied.

"That's alright, we can find one for you later. For now, let's go get Antoinette's bow." Asteris said as she led the group around the city for half an hour before they arrived outside a blacksmithing workshop.
