Flashback 1 year ago

The friendship between Vivaan and Misha was growing. None of them knew, the true identity of each other.

One Saturday morning, Misha's phone pinged and it was a message from Vivaan.

Vivaan- Hey Misha, I can handover the notebooks for the children at the orphanage around 6 pm

Misha- Okay thanks, I will be at the Sahara Mall. See you then

V- great it works for me, I have to go to the mall next to it, see you

A smile appeared on Misha's face unconsciously. That day, after her work, she put on some makeup and fixed her hair. She did not know why she wanted to dress to collect some notebooks from someone but she could not help herself.

She reached the mall around 6 pm and found Vivaan waiting at a cafe.

"Hey Vivaan" she smiled at him unknowingly.

"Hey, Here let me keep these books in your car." Together they both walked to the parking lot towards Misha's car. After carefully putting the books in her car, he said "so what are your plans for tonight?"

"Nothing really will just head to my house and call it a night!" she spoke sounding low.

"Actually it is my best friend's birthday in the mall next to this one...uh... would you like to accompany me?" he sounded hesitant. He wanted to ask her this since the morning but could not get the courage.

"But how can I? I don't even know your friend, won't it be awkward?" she wanted to say yes and spend some more time with Vivaan but did not know how to.

They had met after two weeks because they were busy with their own works. In their busy schedules, they could not get time to meet at the orphanage and were now missing each other's company but could not tell it out aloud.

"Don't worry, Arsh and I have been best friends since nursery... I will introduce you to him... only if you want to join me.. also it is a Saturday night and you have nothing planned"

She agreed to him and both attended the birthday party together. After the party, Vivaan offered to walk Misha to her car as it was 11:30 pm and the area was not safe at night for a girl. While they were walking, a bike came from nowhere and was about to hit Misha but Vivaan noticed it and pulled her tightly towards him. She ended up hugging him. She raised her head to look at him and hear him saying angrily "stupid people when they don't know how to drive why do they"

He had unconsciously tightened his hold around her frame and did not let her go easily. Both were staring into each other's eyes and it felt so warm to be in that position. Misha lowered her head and that's when Vivaan realized how close they were standing.

"Sorry, I did not realize" and they parted and continued to walk towards her car.

For the next two months, they spent a lot of time together. They would meet every weekend either over coffee or over a walk at the park.

Vivaan was a workaholic and loved to talk about business statistics and economics and Misha was the same. Their shared love for economics and the orphanage brought them closer, but none knew that what they were feeling was more than friendship.
