"Why did you do that, Bokuto-san?"
"I said i'm sorry, okay? I know I promised i'll never do it again but I wanted to protect you."
"I never asked you to protect me, Bokuto-san."
"But Akaashi I-"
"I don't want you to put yourself in trouble just to save me."
"Akaashi, you know I don't mind-"
"Then do it, mind it Bokuto-san. Stop protecting me because I don't want it okay?" Akaashi shouts now, real mad.
"Why are you getting mad at me? I just wanted to protect you Akaashi."
"Bokuto-"
"I'd do anything to protect you."
Akaashi breathed in heavily, not wanting this argument to continue, he knows that this is up to no good and they'll both be hurt in the end.
So, they were just silent, Akaashi leaning sideways in his window, looking up at the night sky, Bokuto does the same, as they let their minds be at ease.
Bokuto never wanted Akaashi to find out about what happened but the dean found out and suspended both of them and Akaashi would've asked why he was home and he just couldn't lie to him.
It was night time when Akaashi got back to his bedroom and instead of getting the oppurtunity to rest, Bokuto had angered him and now he feels bad.
"I'm sorry Akaashi, I really am, you don't have to forgive me now you know." Bokuto speaks guiltily, "I know how you say that an apology without change is just manipulation but trust me I am not-"
"I'm sorry too, Bokuto-san." Akaashi cuts him off. "I just don't want you to get yourself hurt just so you could protect me, I, who is not even in trouble."
"I know, i'm sorry that I took it too far and disappointed you."
"Sorry I yelled at you."
Bokuto stares at Akaashi, his eyes sparkling caused of the beam of moonlight and over the million beautiful stars that night, Bokuto thougt Akaashi was the prettiest.
The amusing heat of the night was nothing compared to this weird feeling inside him, like he's about to explode any minute.
Akaashi looked heavenly.
"Hey, Akaashi?"
"Mmm?" Akaashi faces him as well, his eyes seemingly taking Bokuto's own into their world, making him feel lost.
"You know how they say that you could sometimes find all the mysteries of the universe on someone's hand?"
"I've never heard of it."
"Well, I find it weird."
"Why so?"
"I mean that," Bokuto breathes heavily. "I found much more beyond that, and I haven't even held your hand yet."
Akaashi was speechless. He knew what Bokuto is trying to say, he just don't know if he's ready to admit it to himself.
They were silent. Both of them staring at someone who makes their heart beat faster than it really should without even knowing it.
"What I mean is that," Bokuto stares away, looking up at the moon and the million stars who're not even near as beautiful as the one he likes. "I like you, Akaashi Keiji," he scratches the back of his neck in embarassment. "Like, a lot."
"I get it if you don't want to be my friend and all, you know. I just really want to tell you how I truly feel and -"
"I like you too, Bokuto-san."
They stare at each other with nothing but love eyes.
"No, I think i'm in love with you, Bokuto Koutarou."
"W-woah, I didn't expect this at all." Bokuto's golden eyes looks at the other in amusement. "The feelings mutual, my love."
"But seriously though, what's with that confession?" Akaashi chuckles.
"W-well, I thought about it last minute okay! Don't laugh at me, Akaashi."
Akaashi laughs even more, making Bokuto's ticking heart explode.
"Jeez, can you not do that, Akaashi?"
"Do what?"
"Can you not make my heart feel like it's about to combust out of my damn chest."
"I don't think I can help it, Bokuto-san." Akaashi winks, playfully.
"God, you're so beautiful, Keiji."
