Akaashi wakes up from the knocking in his window.
After the exchange of promises yesterday afternoon. Bokuto's mother had peek through their window, told Bokuto to help with the house, waved and smiled at Akaashi and apologized if her son was any trouble, then, Bokuto had to go home, not before swearing that he'll be back the next day, and it seems like he's doing just that.
Climbing out of his bed, Akaashi stacks a milk crate and climbs on to open his window curtain.
"Hey hey hey Akaashi!!" Bokuto yells from the other side of the glass as he wave like crazy.
"Good morning, Bokuto-san."
"Morning, Akaashiiiiii! Come on out let's play!"
Akaashi stares at him, thinking. "I can't go outside Bokuto-san"
Bokuto crooks his head to the side, must be a habit of his, "Huh? Why not?" he said, pouting.
"I-im sick, daddy said I can't get out yet," he looks down for a second then he smiles and faces Bokuto. "BUT! I'll get better soon, I know it!"
"Oh okay then! Why are you sick though?"
"I-" Akaashi is interrupted by his bedroom door opening, his father walking in, holding a tray in his gloved hands.
"Good morning Kei- oh?" he places the tray on a table and walks towards his son.
"Good morning daddy!" Meet Bokuto-san!" he yells joyfully, walking unto his father's embrace.
"Hello, Bokuto." Kosuke waves at the boy who's now standing straight and has a serious looking face.
"Hello sir!" Bokuto salutes in a deep voice, Kosuke decided to play along.
"Oh? And what business must you have with my Keiji?"
"I plan to be his big brother sir!"
"Alright, alright, you better take care of him or else.."
"Yes sir!"
Akaashi and his dad laughs and Bokuto does the same though he doesn't know the reason why he's laughing.
"Excuse me, Akaashi's daddy, why do you dress like that? You look funny,"
"Oh this? It is to protect Keiji."
"Really?? I wanna protect Keiji too! Can I have those??"
"Not yet, Bokuto, you'll have to prove to me that you are worthy first, got that?"
"Sir yes sir!" Bokuto salutes once again, "But why do you need those, sir?"
"Keiji, go eat first okay?" he said, to which his son quickly followed.
Then he goes outside to talk to Bokuto. "Bokuto, listen. Keiji is very, very weak."
"Huh? No, he's not!"
"Right, he's not, he's very strong." Kosuke smiled, calmly. "Keiji is sick. He can't go outsuide because he's not strong enough to fight all the bad germs from here yet." he started. "Very little things can make him lose the fight Bokuto. He'll have to stay in that room so that he could be protected from all the germs, you get me?"
Kosuke seems nervous about Bokuto's silence. Did he ruin it again? This was finally the chance for Akaashi to make a friend and he blew it once again, maybe he shouldn't have told Bokuto maybe then, he'll still want to stay.
Although yeah, this is all too much for a 7-year-old to understand but Bokuto senses that there's only one thing he should do.
"Then I shall protect Akaashi from all the bad germs right?"
"Right, wait what?" Kosuke asks, surprised. "You'd still be his friend?"
"Of course! Akaashi is super cool!"
He ruffles the boy's hair, "Alright then Bokuto, be his hero, then."
"I'm on it!"
Akaashi Kosuke walks in with a smile, because Bokuto Koutarou just proved everyone wrong when they said no one wanted to be with the freak from Abbey Street.
