Change in Custody

3rd Person POV

"Midoryia, can you hear me?" Iida called out, lightly tapping the kid's face. Midoryia's eyes remained shut as his head lolled to the side. He had sweat beading on his forehead and his breathing was becoming irregular.

"Uraraka use your quirk to make him float." Todoroki stated, turning to her. Uraraka quickly complied and gently placed her hand on Midoryia's chest. He lifted into the air while Uraraka made sure to keep his body level to avoid hurting his legs any more.

"Good, now Asui wrap your tongue around Midoryia and get him to Recovery Girl. This way we don't risk injuring him more by carrying him physically." Todoroki seemed so level-headed as he spoke even though it was obvious he was panicking. He tried to hide his emotions but with not much success. Uraraka and Asui took off immediately, running towards the main buildings.

"I'll go alert Aizawa of Izu's condition." Bakugo rose to his feet. Todoroki put a hand on his shoulder, "I'm coming with you."

Bakugo scoffed and shrugged off his hand, "Whatever IcyHot bastard, just don't slow me down." Explosions ignited from the palms of Bakugo's hands, shooting him into the air. Todoroki used his flame quirk to allow him to do the same.

"Wait, what are we supposed to do?!" Kirishima called out to them as they left.

"We don't want to crowd Midoryia right now so maybe we should just focus on fixing that?" Jiro pointed to the side of the building. Not only had Midoryia created a giant crater in their backyard but he had also managed to inflict a crack in the side of the dorms that spread all the way up to the roof.

"Yeah that's definitely a problem..." Kaminari sighed, hunching his shoulders.

Midoryia's face was stuck in a soft frown as he remained unconscious in Recovery Girl's infirmary. Recovery Girl was wrapping a fresh set of bandages around his legs when Aizawa rushed in followed All Might, Todoroki, and Bakugo. Uraraka and Asui were standing next to Midoryia's bed as the group entered.

Aizawa took one look at the kid before his face twist into a scowl, "I thought I told you to watch him!" He yelled to the students. All Might put his hand on Aizawa's shoulder.

"Come on Shota, there's no way they could've prevented this." All Might stated, looking at the young boy. He turned to Recovery Girl. "How's his condition?"

Recovery Girl shook her head, "He manage to severely damage both of his legs while also re-injuring his ribs. If he keeps that up then I fear his ribs will soon by permanently damaged."

She side stepped over to his IV before injecting it with a liquid. "This will keep him asleep for a little while longer while I heal the rest of his body."

"What're we going to do when he wakes up?" Asui asked, turning to her teacher. Aizawa's face was painted with frustration as he stated, "Midoryia will be staying with All Might in order to reduce the risk of him using his power again."

"Why does he have to stay with All Might to do that?" Todoroki asked, looking over at the pro-hero.

"Because their quirks are very...similar." Aizawa responded, shooting All Might a look. The hero didn't notice as his attention remained on his young successor.
