After what happened in Lena's office, Kara packed her stuff. She had anyway finished everything and walked out of her office, till Nia hugged her: "I'm sorry Kara, I heard what happened."

Kara was near her breaking point and hugged her friend tightly. "I have to go." With that she got into the elevator, went into an alley and flew home. As she was flying tears were streaming down her cheeks, until she got interrupted by Alex. "Kara we need you at the DEO, NOW!" Demanded the director. She flew as fast a she can and landed softly into the DEO.

"What's wrong?" Asked the heroine.

J'onn replied, with concern in his voice: "It's Doomsday."

The Kryptonian knew what is going to happen. She just hugged J'onn, Brainy and Alex tightly, till she said: "I love you guys so much and thanks for being the best family I could ever ask for." Tears were welling up in her eyes, not ready for what is yet to come...But deep down she knew she had to. "Kara what is going on?" Asked Alex as she expressed a worried face.
The heroine replied calmly, hiding the sadness in her: "I just have a feeling I don't say it enough." All 3 looked at each other worried, but replied with a warm smile: "We love you too Kara." And hugged her tight, again. She wasn't ready to let ho, bu she had to. Finally Kara broke the hug and flew off to battle the beast.

While flying she wanted to run away, never turn back and leave, but she's Supergirl and Supergirl never runs from a fight, she faces it. As she landed she looked at the beast, masking her fear with a a brave face, but the beast just chuckled. "Battle to the death!" He yelled ina deep powerful voice. With showing power in her voice she replied: "I, Kara Zor-El battle Doomsday to a Dakam Or, till death." Taking up her fighting stance. "What a brave average Kryptonian you are." He said coldly, finding it pathetic that such a creature like her would fight him.
Kara smirked, but she knew the outcome at the end. "If I die, we both die because I will protect earth till my last cell in my body dies." She said determined, her braveness showing.

They fought for hours and buildings near them have been badly damaged. Alex, J'onn, Brainy and everybody who was rooting for the girl of steel had worried expressions on their faces. Even Lena. She sat in her office in CatCo as she saw how badly hurt both of them are. Doomsday had arms drenched with his own blood, while Kara had horrible cuts all over her body. The battle looked terrible.

During the fight Kara caught him of guard and tackled him to the ground. It surprised him, but he threw her high up...But what both didn't know is, they shot a sphere onto each other through their hearts. Both breathing heavily and finally Kara said between painful intakes of breaths: "If I die, you die...And Earth, my family, my home...Is protected till my last breath." With that she saw how Doomsday's eyes went from blood red to grey. She defeated him and that's all that mattered, Earth was finally safe.

"NOOOO!" Alex and Lena shouted as they saw the life in Kara's eyes fade away.

J'onn and Alex ran to Kara as the saw her lifeless body. Alex just picked her up and sobbed. "Please don't leave me now Kara, you still have a lot to see and to do....P-Please don't leave."

J'onn had big tears in his eyes. "Alex...I'm so sorry....She protected us, s-she died as a hero and kept her promise till the end. I want her back so badly too, bu-but she chose us over herself...She chose to keep us safe." They continued to sob, looking at the dead heroine, hoping that her eyes would open, but they didn't. They continued to mourn for Kara's death, till finally Brainy and Nia came. Also a few DEO vans came to pick their fallen hero up. They all saw how a true hero had fallen, because she chose the world over herself, she kept her promise. Lena stood up and ran to the DEO, her eyes puffy and she sobbed so hard she could barely breathe. Not caring how she looked, she barged into the DEO, desperately searching for the hero. Alex saw her and hugged her tight, till the Luthor spoke up: "I-I wa-was too late. My last words to her were, That happens when you lie, I was so stupid, I was blinded Alex. I never told her the words that she deserved to hear and now she's...She's gone." They continued to hug each other, until Alex released the hug. "Hey, Lena it's okay...She knows, I'm sure she knows okay? Don't blame yourself please...Kara wouldn't want you to blame yourself."

Brainy, Nia, J'onn, Alex and Lena all hugged each other. They cried and cried, missing Kara's warmth and cheerfulness. It felt like forever even though it was only a minute. The older Danvers ran to her locker and grabbed the letter and box she had promised Kara to give Lena, when she dies.

"Lena, this is from Kara, I promised her to give this to you if she doesn't make it home one day." Said the director as she sniffed, swalloing the lump in uer throat. She brought the Luthor into Kara's personal room where her mother's hologram is. "I'm going to go see the other's and leave you alone...If you need a shoulder to cry on, I am here." Said the red head softly, giving the Luthor a sad smile.

Lena took the letter and box. She just looked at it for a few minutes, till she had the courage to open the letter:

To my dearest Lena

I am so so sorry...If you are reading this that means I did not make it home and that I died from a battle...
I am sorry that I lied to you for so long about Supergirl but you should know, I did it to protect you. Everybody who knows I'm Supergirl have a target on their back and my enemies can use them against me. I always wanted to tell you, but it were always bad timings, times that you were hurt or just felt down and that I knew you would need me as a friend. There was a time that Alex's mind had to be erased because she was in great danger, due that the former president was searching for my identity and Oh Rao- It was hell for both of us. But then I got so scared, if you knew my identity you could get hurt and I...I just can't lose you, Lena. I never cared about your last name, all I saw was a badass CEO, with a beauty I can't describe with words, with the most gorgeous eyes I have ever seen, with a brain with so much to offer the world and an independent, powerful woman who wants to make the world better for everyone, I saw Lena. I saw a true hero in you Lena and I want you to continue. You have saved me more times than you think...You're my hero Lena, and always have. I want you to be happy and find love. Make the dream family you always wanted and I know you will be a great mother.

I love you Lena Kieran Luthor and always will. I may not be present in the world, but where ever I am, I will always walk by your side, I will always guide you and root for you whatever you do. I will always be here...

Lena was sobbing so hard. In the letter there was only truth in it and words that nobody in the world could buy. Even though she had treated Kara bad for the past months, Kara had always hope in her, even if they were in bad terms...She had faith in her nobody ever had for her. She cried even more when she noticed that the one person she truly loved is gone and not here to comfort or hug her. She clutched the letter to her heart, letting the endless streams of tears fall, but then she realized the small black box and slowly opened it. Her eyes lit up as she saw a beautiful necklace that Kara always wore. There was a small note in it and it read:

This necklace belonged to my mother when I left Krypton. Under it, is the Hause of El crest on it and the stone is a very rare stone from Krypton that represents Hope and Love. Take good care of it and always remind yourself that you are loved and never give up on hope.

Lena wore the necklace and could feel the love and hope that Kara had. She gave a sad smile but knew Kara is watching her. She knows she is loved, she knows to hope no matter what.
