Seems like a dream

CHAPTER 4

Next day in the morning oops! I mean afternoon Qing was sleeping on his bed peacefully when the silence was broken by the ring of his cellphone and he groaned in his sleep cause he also had a little hangover from last night and was feeling a little down so he cut the call and went back to sleep. His phone rang again after some time and this time he picked up the call without looking at the ID while thinking that he was gonna chew this person's head off who is disturbing him in his sleep. How dare that person? That person has to pay. With that in the mind he shouted over the phone.

"What the hell? You really have a death wish don't you? To call me early in the morning!"

"Try me and raise your voice at me again and I'll let you know who's gonna be dead and since when did afternoon became early mornings for you. Huh? And why were you sleeping till this late in the first place?"

Listening to the scolding voice over the phone, Qing's eyes snapped open and he jumped and sat on his bed. No trace of hangover or sleepiness was seen on his face and with the shock he just got, he immediately checked the time and caller's name on his phone screen which was flashing 12:30 pm with "Empress" name on display. He trembled from fear and cursed silently but then composed himself and politly replied again...

"I am sorry mom. I didn't see the name while I was picking up the phone otherwise I would never dare shout at you ma! And I was sleeping till late be..because..uh..i was working till late in the studio so I was rather tired tha..that's why. Hehe."

"You really think you can lie to me? I am your mother you brainless kid. Don't try and act smart with me. I know what kind of work you were busy with and how much tired you were. I called you and that idiot brother of yours so many times, Just check your damn phones but none of you were picking up my calls and now I perfectly know why. That bastard is still sprawled out on his bed isn't he? Wake him up. Now! I want to talk to him."

"I..I a..am sorry mom. This won't happen again I promise and I'll wake up gege right now. Please wait!"

With that being said Qing dashed towards Yunlan's room. When he reached there, he saw Yunlan sleeping And snoring loudly. He put a little distance between the phone and him and with one hand shook Yunlan's shoulder vigouriously but he just srugged his hand away and continued sleeping. Qing tried again but yunlan just put a pillow on his head and went back to sleep. So he was only left with last option. He went on his bed and kicked Yunlan's sleeping figure from behind which landed on the floor with a loud thud and Zhao groaned in pain and cursed Qing loudly.

"You fucking bastard? What is your problem? Are you taking revenge on me for what I did before? That too this early in the morning?"

"Not my fault you were not waking up so did what I had to and F.Y.I it's 12:30 right now and you have a call that's why. Here take it."

Yunlan was pissed off so got up from the floor rubbing his butt and went towards Qing and grabbed the phone from his hand and without looking shouted over it. While all this a smirk didn't left Qing's face since he got to kick his brother and take revenge and he still didn't told him yet who was on the phone and therefore ready for the show.

"Whoever you are this better be important or I am gonna skin you alive!"

"Zhao fucking Yunlan! You really have guts don't you. I guess you really are looking forward to a hospital trip."

Listening to the angry voice from the other side a shiver ran down his spine and he fastly looked at the name on the screen and turned towards Qing furiously who was laughing again at his brother's agony. He covered his phone and mouthed to his didi.

"Why didn't you told me that it was the empress?" almost snapping at him in anger.

"Well if I m going down I m taking you with me. GEGE!" and started laughing again.

(A/N: Siblings are really evil. haha)

With the thought of handling him later he took deep breaths he turned back to the phone and said softly..

"I am so sorry mom I didn't know you were on the call. I am really sorry. Besides my lady have called after such along time, I missed you so much ma!"

"Missed you my foot! If you miss me that much then why don't call me or come to visit us. Or are you that grown up that you don't need your parents anymore?"

Yunlan winces from the amount of shouting happening in his ear and sees Qing stifling his laughter.

"You know ma it's not like that, I am just busy with work that's all."

"Put the phone on speaker, I know that idiot is standing near you." Yunlan does as he is told.

"Now listen here you both. It's holiday season right now and I am pretty sure you both must be having some holidays too. I want you both to visit us this holidays. Am I clear?"

Both Yunlan and Qing were going to say something but were cut again in middle.

"And I don't want no for an answer. I will not listen to any of your excuses, I don't care. I want you both in Shanghai by tomorrow. It's been such long time I've seen your faces. Your father also missed you both."

Yunlan scoffed at his fathers mention. He never got along with him. There relationship was like a rocky terrain, very hard. His mother's voice brought him out of his reverie.

"So start packing your bags cause you are coming to Shanghai tomorrow. I and Xinci will be waiting. And drink some lemon water, it'll help with the hangover you both."

And with that being said the line goes dead. Both Qing and Yunlan looked at each other in puzzle when they realize that their mom knows everything and they smile. Afterall a mother can get all angry at her child but their wellbeing never leaves her mind. This shows that a mother loves her child no matter what. Her love is very pure. But now there was no choice left for them they have to go to Shanghai, its Empresss orders, they cannot afford to piss her off if they wanted to stay alive. Besides they also missed them so now their destination was Shanghai. Yunlan was hoping for his holidays to go smoothly at his parents house but somehow because of Zhao Xinci the idea dosen't seemed to be that convincing but they didn't have any other options so they both went towards their room and started packing.

So I know many of you are waiting for Weiwei and Yezun ah. But this is a mermen au so obviously it's Yunlan and Qing who have to find their way to them. So let's see how they make it till there first meeting. The story is going at slow pace, I know but please bear with me since I cannot rush things.
