Seems like a dream

CHAPTER 7

Later that night Yunlan was in his room sulking and thinking of a way to get out of the mess his father created while staring at the ceiling of the room with him sprawled out on the bed when Qing came to his room and jumped on the bed and lay down next to him and stared at the ceiling too. There was a comforting silence in the room and an understanding prevailed between them. Qing usually would tease his Gege if the marriage was consensual on his brother's part but given the situation he knew how his brother was feeling. He himself was very disappointed with his father's decision. Qing would act like a jerk towards his brother sometimes....ok maybe most of the times but he always wants his brothers happiness, always wanted to see smile on that scruffy face of his idiot Gege. After staring at the ceiling for like 10 minutes Qing broke the silence..

"You know that Dad will do everything to send you on this date right?"

"Quite the comfort you are giving Didi! Thank you so much!" Yunlan said in a sarcastic tone.

"Your welcome brother."

Qing said in a comforting tone just to mess with him and to lighten up the mood and Yunlan looked at him with an annoyed face. He was familiar with every antiques of his brother and he knew that he was just helping to cheer him up but he was thinking of discussing with his Didi the proper methods of cheering someone up and especially if that someone was his elder brother, who was on the verge of mental breakdown but that was for some other time. Right now he had a bigger problem to solve. He said after thinking sometime....

"No! this can't be happening. I can't let old man take my life decisions. We have to do something. I can't go on a date with that girl."

"Well just to remind you and..as a matter of fact, it IS happening. And dad DID took your biggest life decision on your behalf so how about you throw that thought right out of the window and about doing something, why don't you just go on the date. As I said before who knows maybe the chic is hot and maybe you'll like her and if not you can always blow her off. Besides, I don't think she'll be interested in you just after first glance at your scruffed mango face but even if by chance, by coincidence, by mistake, by fluke, by unexpectedly, she somehow is still interested in you, just open your mouth to rant about your thesis and she's off your back. She won't ever show you her face in her entire life. Na-uh! Don't thank me. I know I am genius."

Qing was being all smug and confident about his plan while Yunlan was thinking on how exactly his Didi's brain works and maybe it's finally the time to send him to a mental asylum.

"Are you for real? You are not taking this seriously now, are you? You seriously are advicing me to go on a date with the girl who is chosen by our DAMNED father who has probably even fixed our marriage date given that she is the daughter of one of his colleague and close friend? Yeah I totally have no choice whether I want it or not. So definitely No to the date. That would definitely be a green light for Dad for my marriage. How about we sent her a letter stating about my unwillingness to marry and not just her in particular but with anyone and send her my deepest apologies, how about that?"

Yunlan asked with the hope but it was crushed by Qing.

"Yeah why not! Go ahead write a letter and then go to Mom and Dad asking for her address and when they ask you what for, you just go on telling them "I want to reject that girl by sending her a letter" and they'll totally agree with you." Qing said in a fake cheerful but mocking tone and then suddenly snapped on his idiot brother.

"What the else is matter with you? Why do you think our parents didn't sent you her phone number and address yet? They very well know you. They knew you'll try everything to influence that girl's brain before the date to reject you. And specially Dad! He didn't gave you her information on purpose, so that you could not meet her before the date. He's not chief detective without a reason. And seriously you are thinking of blowing off that girl with a letter? How can you be this cruel? Where is your chivalry? How do you think will that girl feel when she comes to know that you wanted to reject her through a LETTER!!? At least have some respect for that girl for she has to go on a date with YOU. Seriously use your brain Gege!"
