CHAPTER 8

Human beings by nature are curious and love to explore different things. There are many puzzles, secrets surrounding the world, many of which humans have tried to solve or discover and have succeeded many a times but have failed too. Such secrets also involves varieties of species too. Many species have been rooted out around the world from the ancient to the present time and the search is still going on. But there are many which are yet to find out, different worlds yet to come across, many breeds yet to discover. Mother nature's many mysteries yet to know about.

One such world, away from the reach of human lands, buried deep down into the depths of vast ocean and seas, the kingdom of "OCEANA", where mer-people resided. Oceana was a very beautiful world underwater where mermaids and mermen lived in harmony with other aqua species. Another quality of mer-people was that they all had special powers but there were some powerful legacies which were only passed down into the bloodline of the royal lineage.

Also there was once a time when humans and mer-people had contacts with each other. The two worlds co-operated together. The rulers of the two world had made treaties which were beneficial to both the humans and mer-people. But as the time passed, humans started exploiting the water resources and the powers of mer-people for their own profits and later on there were many disputes between the two worlds and it ultimately led to the enmity between them. And a time came when Oceana was almost destroyed by the humans, the then king of Oceana decided to cut all ties between human lands and the sea world, going deep down, owning the depths of the seas where no human can reach. Many strict rules were made, which of course took away the freedom of mer-people for which they resented the humans and that hatred passed on to generations. Whereas the king of human lands tried everything within his power to take control over Oceana but due to powers, which the mer-king and Queen possessed, they secured Oceana, which resulted in the defeat of the king of human lands.

Though the information about mer-people had been passed down from generations amongst humans but over the time it became nothing but ancient myths and bed time stories for children. No one believed in the existence of mer-people, especially in the world of developing technology and perhaps it was better that way, for both the worlds existed in peace, or perhaps the fate had other plans? We shall know.

(A/n: the conversation amongst the characters now will be more like telepathy sort or gesture based but the communication language of humans is still known to their kind. So I hope you all will not be confused, but for now it will be telepathic. And story in this chapter is taking place underwater, i.e. Oceana which still practices monarchy unlike human lands. )

Currently the Kingdom of Oceana is ruled by the Shen dynasty. In the court of Oceana, right in the middle, on the crystal throne sat the King and Queen of the sea world. Shell and crystal crowns adorning their heads with their long hair open. The Queen had rather delicate features and her red tail adding to her charms making her look ethereal. Whereas the King has rough but handsome features and his orange tail completing his form.

At the moment, the Kings eyes were glowing with anger while the Queen tried her best to make her husband calm down and save the person in front of them from his wrath. The said person was none other than the elder prince of the Oceana and the crown prince to the throne. The Royal couple was blessed with the beautiful twin mermen who were loved very dearly by the mer-people. But seems like the first prince was in a tough situation right now.

The first prince have smooth long hair which were braided at the center with small shells decorating his hair. He has sharp cheekbones, beautiful doe eyes which had pink tint to it's iris and long eyelashes, and luscious, red soft lips like cherry, his face having the innocence of someone pure, with small gills right below his ears on the neck, and with a black mer symbol on his right slender shoulder (only royal family has symbols or more like a mark of royal blood) and then his chiseled chest and abs and his beautiful black tail sparkling as if studded with black diamonds. The young prince was the definition of unearthly beauty, grace and elegance.
