CHAPTER 5

Next day both the brothers were standing at the airport exit of Shanghai and outside there a black BMW was waiting for them to pick them up. The driver got out and opened the door for them to enter into the car.

"Good afternoon young master Yunlan and Young master Qing."

"Lao Li you are older than us, please don't call us young master. Just call us by our names. Said Yunlan while Qing nodded along."

"Gege is right Lao Li you are older, no need to be formal with us."

Listening to this Lao Li was very happy. He smiled and nodded and gestured them to enter the back seat. They entered and Lao Li drove them towards there mention. When they reached the high gates of Zhao mention, Yunlan started getting more nervous. Zhao mention as by the name you can guess, was very big surrounded by garden which contained different varieties of flowers and different plants which were madam Shen Xi's favourite. She was very much interested in flora and why not she was a retired botany professor and one of the great ones of her time, so has always felt attraction towards nature that's why those garden were well watered and kept. Talking about the mention, it was well guarded from all the sides and designed in the modern style and equipped with all the technologies. When the car stopped in front of the entrance of the mention. Butler Wu came to attend his young masters and greeted them.

"Good afternoon young masters, You both came after a long time?"

"Uncle Wu how many times do we have to tell you to not call us young masters? We don't like it."

"Yes Uncle Wu, you are like our family, we are like your kids and yes we were caught up in our work uncle."

"Alright alright Xiao Lan, Xiao Qing, I'll keep that in mind, come madam Shen Xi and master Zhao are waiting."

Butler Wu said with a smile and took Yunlan and Qing to the main hall where their parents were seated and what looks like a small discussion when Butler Wu announced their arrival. Shen Xi and Xinci both turned and looked at their children. Shen Xi got so happy after seeing her sons after such a long time and Xinci just took the random newspaper lying there and started reading trying to ignore certain someone.

"What are you doing there both of you? Move your asses and give your mother a hug."

Said Mrs. Zhao and gesturing her sons for a hug to which they both complied and crushed their mother into a long bear hug. Their mom kissed them on their foreheads but then remembered something and twisted both her sons ears while saying....

"Why didn't both visited for such a long time. Huh? Dont you miss your old mother? Or is Work more important for you both? Tell me!"

"Aa..aa.. ma please we are sorry..aaa.. please let our ears go please, please please it really hurts ma please."

"Yes ma please..aa..aa..ouch! ma please gege is right please let us go please it's really hurting ouch ouch!"

Both the brothers were whining in pain because of Mrs. Zhao twisting their ears, while Mr. Zhao were still reading the newspaper and Butler Wu was smiling looking at the scene looking in front of him.

"You both still didn't answer my question. Tell me! And you guys dare ignore my calls too? Tell me! while twisting their ears more."

"Ma.. aa.. i-I told you before on the phone. I wa-was..ouch..busy with my classes and thesis so didn't got time to call back. Otherwise I aa..missed you so much. You can ask didi if you think..aa.. I m lying Ma please it's really hurting so much, please. I am sorry ma it won't happen again I promise...aaa!"

"WE promise you ma! I am sorry! I was really busy with my modeling and I had to complete th-the..aa..new series of new designs I created ma so that I can launch them next year..ma please it's hurting..i am pretty sure my ear is red by now. Please have some mercy. Pl-please even the servents are laughing at us ma aa..please!"

"Fine! I am leaving you both idiots this time. It should be the last time. I warn you both. Next time you both wont be standing on your legs!"

And saying that she let their ears go which are red due Mrs. Zhao's torture on them. After calming down a little they all look at each other and then start laughing and again hug their mother. After breaking the hug they look at Mr. Zhao who is pretending to read the news paper, trying to ignore his sons but from inside he is feeling very happy to have his sons back at home but doesn't let his emotions show on his face in which he is an expert. And why wont he? He is the director of the police force and in charge of SID so obviously he's good at hiding what's inside his mind. And this is also one of the reasons why Yunlan doesn't get along with his father. His lack of expressing. It's so frustrating for him. As Xinci was perfectly putting his emotionless face on display but one person was present there who could look through his act and that was madam Shen xi. She was his wife after all. They have spend half of their lives together, raised their kids, gone through so many ups and down together, so they could figure out what their partner had in their mind. So even if his husband was able to fool everyone present there but not her. Nope! Definitely not! She walked towards her husband and tapped on his shoulder.

"Xinci! Our children have come home after such long time, at least greet them. Don't be an arrogant jerk."

"Can't you see I am reading news paper? You can keep them company."

"It's upside down."

"What?"

"The newspaper, which you are reading with so much interest, you are holding it upside down honey."

"...."

Mr.Zhao quickly turned the paper and looked at Shen Xi who raised one brow up in mockery and then smirked and Xinci fake coughed and cleared his throat. He utterly refuses to show that he is embarrassed. He cannot lose face in front of his wife, that too being the director of SID. No he have his dignity. He will not succumb to such embarrassment. So he quickly regains his posture again and puts on a stoic face and confronts her wife.

"My mind was else where... on a case I am working on currently, so didn't noticed. You continue your reunion, I'll head towards library."

"Oh come on Xin Ci! Drop the act. I know you want to hug them and talk to them, it's just your ego. And if not, at least greet them for my sake."

"It's not my ego alright! He's the one...."

"I dont care!" Mrs.Zhao cuts him in the middle.

"I want you to greet them now!"

"But baby..."

"NOW!"

Finally getting defeated from her wife, he had no other choice but to greet his sons. He maybe the one who runs orders outside the house but everyone knows who is boss in the house. So he went towards them. Qing was the first one to greet his father.

"Dad! How are you? I hope your health is good?"

"Hmm. You good?" Xinci asked in a serious tone and his wife rolled her eyes.

"Hm..mm ye-yes dad, I am good. Thank you."

Qing replied awkwardly. Xinci turned towards Yunlan who was finding ceiling design more interesting. Qing elbowed his brother and Yunlan also had no other choice but to greet his father, which he was hoping to avoid but his mother was also glaring at him so he went for it.

"Hey Old man! How you doin?"

Xinci wanted to scold his son for his lack of manners but then saw her wife signaling him to ignore, so he just sighed and ignored it.

"Good. Take some rest."

And with that being said he went towards library before anyone could say anything. Shen Xi sighs. She is getting annoyed and tired of these constant arguments and fights between his husband and son. But she was relieved that just now it didn't turned up into some stupid argument.

"Anyways you both go and freshen up, I'll tell chef to cook something for you both. Alright?"

With that being said Shen xi went to prepare for lunch and both Yunlan and Qing went to their respective rooms.
