kaitlyn's pov

i angrily chuck my xbox controller across the room and jump off the couch, throwing myself onto the ground.

"i'm not playing with you anymore." i cry into the carpet.

"because i keep killing you in a one v one?" jaden chuckles and gets up from the couch to pick me up from the ground.

"you're too good at fortnite, jay." i sigh as he throws me back onto the couch aggressively.

"i've only been playing since i was 17." he rolls his eyes sarcastically at me.

"kait, it's late and you have homework to do." griffin shouts from the other room.

"i better go or else my brother will kick our asses." i stand up from the gaming couch.

"he'd kick my ass for sure but definitely not yours. you're too fragile." jaden winks at me.

"shut up, hossler." anthony says, coming into the gaming room.

"bite me, reeves." jaden fake growls at him.

"katie, you better go or else griffin will have a literal meltdown." anthony motions for me to go.

"he's probably busy talking to his son anyways." i giggle referring to josh.

"their bond confuses me." jaden looks at anthony who nods in agreement.

"later, losers." i wave before going to find my older brother.

"you going to your room?" asks griff and i nod.

these boys are my life. a few weeks ago, we moved in with the sway boys.

i wanted to be homeschooled so that i can focus on my tiktok career but unfortunately, griffin said no. he wants me to graduate in a real school like he did.

griffin is basically my father figure. our dad walked out on us when i was 6. we haven't seen him since.

it took a lot of begging for griff to get mom to allow me to move in with him and the boys. mom felt uncomfortable with the thought of me living with just boys at first but now she's chill.

griffin is extremely overprotective. he scares all the guys away. i've had one boyfriend and that only lasted two months because griff would ALWAYS watch us and give him the death stare.

i really liked him so when he dumped me, i was heart broken. jaden had to stop griffin from going after him while anthony and josh held me while i cried.

i'm exactly a year younger than josh so i'm almost 17. i just started my senior year of high school and so far it's going alright.

the best part is that griffin isn't watching me like a hawk 24/7.

we moved to california during my 10th grade year. we are originally from illinois. hated it there. we lived in a two bedroom apartment for about a year here in la before moving here into the sway house.

california life is better. i like the people, not the people at school though. i like the vibes just not the vibes that my school brings.

once i get upstairs, i jump into the shower and then start on my homework.

right as i'm finishing, there's a knock at my door.

"come in." i tell them as i stuff my papers in my folder.

"wanna go to the beach?" jaden asks stepping into my bedroom.

"you can't be in here! my brother will flip." i whisper shout.

"he doesn't have to know, does he?" he smirks.

"get out." i sigh.

"make me." he bites his lip.

"fine. i'll go with you but get out." i shake my head at him while rolling my eyes.

"meet me outside in ten." he nods before walking away.

i quickly pull on a cardigan and throw on some converse and head for the front door but then i hear footsteps.

"fuck." i mutter to myself.

"meeting up with jaden?" asks bryce.

"how'd you know?" i tilt my head at him.

"he told me. now go before your brother finds out." he motions for me to leave.

"my favorite johnson!" jaden yells as i step outside.

"shut the fuck up." i cover his mouth with my hand while standing on my tippy toes.

"sorry." he apologizes.

"so are we walking to the beach or what?" i start walking ahead of him.

"wait for me." he whisper yells trying to catch up to me.

"why'd you wanna go out anyway?" i look up at him.

"what? i can't hang out with one of my best buds?" he asks innocently.

"jaden, you have many best buds." i chuckle.

"i love spending time with you. i don't understand why you hang out with all of us. don't you have friends?" he questions.

"i do but i always cancel on them or don't invite them over because it's just..." i trail off.

"it's just what?" he asks looking at me with worry in his eyes.

"i-." i start but then get cut off.

"there you are! hossler, what're you doing with my sister?"
