Once we arrived at the bell tower, we ran inside and went to the attic. We were both breathing heavily from running so much
We were catching our breaths when we heard some noise. John B grabbed a candle holder and pushed me behind him
We got ready to fight whoever was coming up, but then we saw Sarah. We both let out a sigh of relief when we saw our friend
She continued to climb up. When she saw me she came up to me and hugged me tightly "Are you okay?" she asked me and i nodded
I let her go and she went over to John B, she let out a sob and John B hugged her tighter
They reminded me of JJ and how much i miss him, I dont know how much time i'll get to spend with him tomorrow, or when i'll see him again after that. I tried to hold in my tears and wiped away the sweat that was on my face
It was really hot and running from the entire town is not helping. I heard a slight noise come from the ladder and then it became louder. John B pushed me and Sarah behind him and again and we all waited in fear to see who it was
We saw the door open revealing Topper
"What are you doing here, Top?" yelled my brother
"Hey. Just take it easy, man" said Topper putting his hands up in surrender
"Dont fuckin' move!" said John B to Topper
"Let me-- i just need to talk to Sarah. Please" he said
John B and i looked at Sarah and she nodded saying it was okay
"Its not too smart, is it, meeting up with a fugitive like this?" said Topper and finished climbing the ladder
"Hey. Im not... Im not... Im not gonna do anything, all right? What? Are you gonna try and kill me too, man?" he continued as my brother had the candle holder in hand ready to hit him
"He didnt kill anyone" said Sarah
"You kidding? He's brainwashed you, Sarah" said Topper
"Oh shut up" i said to the blonde boy
"No" said Sarah
"Huh? Snap out of it!" he said before grabbing the rope that was attached to the bell "Hey, everybody! He's up here!" he pulled the rope and the bell went off
I pushed him away from the bell and into the wall "Shut up! Shut the fuck up!" i yelled angrily at him making him stop in fear as Sarah stopped the bell
"Topper knock it off" said Sarah
"Im sorry" said Topper putting his hands up "We're good. Just take it easy" he was looking at me while i gave him a death stare
"Sarah, I warned about these pogues, didnt I?" he said
