Theo was aghast. The dream shook her to her core, but she had to face her fears and look it in its eyes. She couldn't back down, no matter how badly she wanted to.

She and Paul were sat on the edge of her roof, their feet dangling off the edge as the sun bled into the night, leaving a bright splotch of magenta becoming orange in its wake.

They were sitting there, discussing nothing in particular. It didn't matter to her much, because all she wanted was to be near him.

Theo realized she could practically hear his heart beating out of his chest — oh, wait. That was her own.

"Are you alright?"

His question pulled her back into reality; she didn't need to look like she was losing her mind, she very clearly was.

"Uh, yeah. Fine."

Paul shifted his weight from one side of his body to the next. He couldn't look at Theo while asking the next question.

"Are you sure? I mean, you haven't seen it, have you?" his voice was soft.

"Seen what?" she asked with a clear confusion.

Paul didn't want to explain it; he loved her, and knew that she needed to see the very gravity of the situation they were in. It's why he came over, pushing into her house with a small smile to her mother and Brad before pulling the girl onto the roof.

Theo could be in danger right now, and she didn't even know it.

( Maybe not physical danger, but definitely emotional danger. )

It took a second for her eyes to adjust to the brightness of her phone, but when she did, her heart sank. On the screen, the Twitter app was opened and showed a profile called @THEOEMBRYEXPOSE.

Why would anyone want to expose her? She gingerly took the phone from him and began scrolling, quickly realizing that the account claimed to have information about her sleeping around, causing trouble and doing otherwise seedy things.

Even if I did sleep around, she thought, why should anyone else have anything to say about it?

But, apparently, people did. The account had upwards of 1,000 followers ( did she even know that many people? Were people she had no memory of laughing at her, too? ) and the mentions were absolutely atrocious.
