After they had placed their orders, Mark laced his hands on the table, avoiding eye contact with Sarah. Sarah realized this and moved her head, trying to meet his eyes.
"Is something wrong?" Sarah asked him. Mark scratched the back of his neck, sighing.
"I think we should talk about.... us." Mark said. Sarah felt her stomach drop. Is this where it all ends? Sarah thought to herself, worried.
Mark quickly noticed the look on Sarah's face and let out a small chuckle.
"Don't worry, I still want to talk to you and stay in touch. I just want you to be prepared." Mark told her. Sarah began to loosen up, feeling a bit better. Mark reached forward, taking her hand in his.
"I really like talking to you and spending time with you. But I also want you to know, when I get back, it's going to be busy. There's a lot of work that I need to do, so I might not be able to talk that much or respond as fast, but that doesn't mean that I'm not thinking about you, alright?" Mark told her. Sarah nodded her head.
"Yeah, I don't expect you to spend every moment you have with me. I understand that you're busy." Sarah said with a faint smile. It was quite sad that Mark was leaving today, but she would definitely cherish the moments they had together.
Mark gave her a small squeeze, trying to make her feel better.
"Don't think too much about it. We'll see each other again soon." Mark said to her, giving the girl a supportive smile. Sarah nodded, squeezing his hand back.
The food quickly arrived, and the two had decided to put their sad thoughts aside, deciding to talk about funny moments instead.
"So I'm just casually in my room, playing the guitar and singing in my room when Manager Hyung storms in, holding his phone, and he's pissed. Like red face, puffed chest pissed." Mark said before imitating an angry Manager Hyung. Sarah giggled, seeing Mark's face completely crunched up as his chest puffed out. Mark let out a giggle too before continuing his story.
"He's waving his phone around and he's yelling about how we've gotten a noise complaint for the fifth time this week. So I tell him to calm down before leaving the room, just to see Taeil hyung and Yuta hyung casually sitting on the couch. And mind you, these two are never this calm!" Mark continued full of enthusiasm.
"Continue." Sarah said, taking a sip of her water.
"So the hyungs look at me, and they ask, 'Mark, is Manager hyung mad?' And I said, 'Yeah, we just got another noise complaint.' And then they exchanged looks and started to giggle." By now, Mark was smiling, trying not to laugh as he explained the scenario.
"Why?" Sarah asked, smiling as she watched Mark trying to hold in his laughter.
"So I asked them why, hehehe, they were looking at me like that, heh. And they look at me all with these wicked grins and say!" By now, Mark was holding his stomach as he giggled, unable to contain his laughter. As he noticed Sarah looking at him weirdly, he took a deep breath, calming himself before continuing.
"Yuta hyung, all serious says, 'Taeil and I just wanted to have a dance party.'" Mark lost it. He was laughing so hard, he could barely breathe and Sarah couldn't help but laugh with him. Although she didn't find the story that funny, she couldn't help but laugh at how adorable Mark was.
Once Mark had calmed down, he looked at the girl, noticing the girl hadn't laugh as hard as him.
"We got a noise complaint because the two oldest hyungs were having a dance party!" Mark exclaimed. Sarah smiled as she watched Mark try to convince her that the story was funny. After realizing how it was, he did a scissors motions with his hands by his head.
"Okay, cut!" Mark awkwardly said, avoiding her eyes. Sarah began to giggle. Mark slitted his eyes at her.
"So you laugh at that?" Mark said, pouting as he crossed his arms. Sarah cover her mouth as she began to giggle again.
"You're cute." Sarah said before covering her face in embarrassment. She noticed Mark's ears turn red as he began scratching the back of his neck.
Mark's head shot up and Sarah turned around to see his manager behind her, tapping his wrist. Mark took a look at his phone, checking the time. Sarah noticed Mark's eyes sadden.
"Do you need to go?" Sarah asked him. Mark nodded his head.
"Yeah, we have a few more minutes." Mark told her. Sarah slowly nodded her head taking in his words. The two of them stood up so they could exchanged goodbyes.
"Sarah, thanks for taking care of Mark that day. If you ever decide to visit Korea, let Mark know and we can handle the details." Mark's manager told her, giving Sarah a soft smile. Sarah bowed to him, thanking him for his generosity.
"Mark, I'll meet you down the hall." His manager said, pointing. Mark nodded and told him he wouldn't take too long. As the manager walked away, Sarah suddenly felt two hands on her cheeks, turning her to meet Mark's. He smiled as he looked at her.
"You look cute like this." Mark said, giving them a small squeeze as Sarah glared at him. Mark released his hands, pulling her into a tight embrace.
"I'll miss you, alright. Don't forget about me and don't fall for anyone else!" Mark told her.
"I won't." Sarah reassured him, softly patting his back. As Mark released the hug, he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close as he placed a small peck on her lips, surprising her.
"I'll be thinking of you." Mark said, giving her a small smile.
"I will too. Now go before you miss your flight!" Sarah said, slapping his arm. Mark chuckled before placing his black cap on his head.
"Don't miss me too much." Mark said with a wink placing another peck before running off to meet his manager.
Sarah sighed as he watched Mark disappear before realizing that she didn't know when they would see each other again.
...
When Sarah arrived at her apartment, she had received a snap from Mark. She opened it up as she sat comfortably on her couch. Mark was on the plane.
"Hi Sarah, I'm on the plane now, going to leave soon. I'll let you know when I arrive in Korea. Let me know when you're home too so that I know you're safe. I'll see you later!" Mark waved to the camera before the video ended.
Sarah smiled to herself before sending him a snap back. Afterwards, she put her phone down, deciding to make dinner for the night.
