Hello readers;
This is probably one of my favourite chapters, just for the simple fact I feel its probably some of my best writing ever.
But this chapter is also hard, in the fact that it touches on self harm.
So please do not read if you are triggered in anyway by that. It's not your average take on it, and I do not in anyway condone harming yourself.
Hope you enjoy!

The drive back to Schofield-McDagean was silent and awkward. Neither Sarah nor Troy dared to look at the other. Sarah was shattered and heart broken, while Troy was frustrated about having the same conversation repeatedly. Sarah's gut was telling her that he was never going to choose her, and she was probably right.
They pulled into the school parking lot. It was a quarter to midnight. Before the truck even fully stopped Sarah opened the door and jumped out pulling her bag with her. She could not breathe sitting in that cab with him any longer.
Not that Sarah really knew where she was going to go. Her pride was not going to allow her to call Claire, and she was not sure if Roger would understand.
"Sarah, please stop." Troy yelled after her, "I'm sorry."
Sarah did not stop or turn around, and Troy never ran after her. Feeling dejected he got back in his truck and sped out of the parking lot, tires squealing as he took the corner to fast. Engine revving, he sped back down the highway.
Sighing Sarah pulled out her phone auto dialing Claire. Before the sleepless girl on the other end could even say hello, Sarah started to cry, "Open the window, I'm outside."

Sarah did not sleep a wink that night. She was to upset with herself. She could not believe that she let herself keep getting swept up in all this. For once she should have listened to that quiet voice inside that was saying no.
Claire dragged her out of bed the next morning and forced her into the cafeteria to eat. She was not going to let her best friend wallow in self-pity and let Troy feel like he won anything. Sarah had tried to grab his hoodie as they walked out the door, but Claire took it and hid it from her, promising they could burn it later.
Sarah was trying to hide from the world in some random hoodie that brought her no comfort whatsoever when Roger spotted her from across the room. Instantly he ran over. "Why are you back so soon? How did it go? Where's Troy?" Sarah began to cry once again, and that's when Roger knew something was wrong. He wrapped his arms around Sarah, allowing her to cry on his shoulder why he looked at Claire questioning.
"He dropped her off in the middle of the night. After telling her they had no future and kindly saying that she would be fun to hook up with. But only for the next month, and only on his terms." Claire rolled her eyes, trying to control her anger once again, "If I see his face, I'm going to punch it."
Sarah pulled away from Roger looking at Claire, "I already told you it was my fault. I knew he couldn't offer me much; I just didn't realize how little." Sarah wiped at her eyes with her sleeve, "It was the rejection when I made a move that hurt the most. Especially since he did not want to go that far until things are official. Well buddy thanks a lot, we will never be official." A new round of tears started to fall, and Roger pulled her back to him again.
"Oh Sar," He muttered trying to console her. "I'm sorry your hurting. I never would have helped him plan last night if I knew it would end like this."
