Y/n's POV
I wake up to a notification from Colson from a long nap on Pete's couch. What did he want? I guess I missed a call and so I decided to call him.

"Oh hey y/n!" he said. I wasn't sure why he was so happy.

"Um hi, you called earlier did you need something?"

"I was just gonna ask if you could come over for a bit. Casie and I haven't had dinner and I didn't really want takeout for like the millionth time in a row."

"Yeah sure, I'll be there in like five minutes."

Colson's POV
I was actually really glad she called and I didn't know why. I was kinda surprised but it was probably because I called her first. I don't know why but there's just something about her that makes me smile every time I think about her. The way she treated everyone with all the kindness in her heart, the way she looked stunning even when she was totally out of it, and the way she made me laugh without trying. She was so good at making me feel so happy. I can't explain it.

I saw her car in the drive way and before she even knocked on the door, I opened it. Way to lose my cool.

"I- uh come in," I say acting like I've never invited anyone to my house before. Stupid.

"Thanks man," she said nudging me gently and walking in. I guess that made it clear we were just like bros hanging out.

"So uh um we uh have a kitchen. I don't really know if we have things to make a real dinner with. My housekeeper kinda took off and maybe there's things. Sorry I usually don't-"

"That's fine, I'll find something probably," she said allowing me to breathe. What the hell? Why am I acting real stupid right now? "Oh and Colson, sorry about earlier today. The sun was being a real bitch and I couldn't keep my cool I guess," she laughed.

"Nah dude, it was really funny. Even when you're not trying, you're a real comedian," I say wanting to take back that last part. 'You're a real comedian' really dude?

"Thanks dude!" She says.

I walk up to Casie's room and find her sleeping soundly. She didn't eat dinner so I tried gently waking her up. She slapped my face away and I got the hint. I walk back downstairs and plop myself on the couch. I can smell the food and I hear my stomach make a slight growl. Shut up stomach.

Y/n's POV
I'm glad that whole heat breakdown I had wasn't as bad as I thought. Of course I remember very little so Pete told me most of it. I can't believe Colson carried me twice. He's kind of cool I guess.

I find marinara sauce and dried pasta so I guess that's what I'm making. After boiling the water, I start cooking the noodles and marinara sauce together on a pan. I plate three plates but it turns out Casie was too tired so I just scraped it back on the pan. It's fine probably. I put a little parsley and parmesan on top. I guess the housekeeper he had before left a couple things. I handed him his plate while he sat on the couch.

"Oh sick I didn't know we had fucking pasta! Nice man thanks," he said. I don't really know why he was so excited. It was literally just pasta.

"Uh you're welcome. It's nothing really," I say.

"Nah it's really good."

I really don't understand this man like its fucking pasta, chill. I sit at the table and eat my pasta silently. He looked over and said, "What are you doing?"

Mid bite I mumbled, "I eating pasta." Yes that's exactly what I just said. What the fuck is wrong with me.

"You can sit on the couch with me and watch TV. You don't have to sit there all alone," he laughed.

"Yeah but I was just having a conversation with the table and it's rude to leave while someone is- ah ok bye table," I try to make an excuse to avoid Colson but he pulled me away.

He laughed as I struggled to go back to the table. He picked me up and dropped me on the couch then he handed my plate to me.

"That was rude, man. The table probably misses me," I say annoyed with him.

"Relax babe, I just don't like sitting alone ok," he says. Did he just call me babe. It probably meant nothing. He probably just calls people that.

Colson's POV
Did I just call her babe? Did she notice? She probably gets called that sometimes because she didn't seem to have a problem with it or anything. God, I have no idea what I'm doing but this way we can get closer.

"So uh how have you been?" I ask trying to get to know her.

"Um pretty average I guess. I did just get kicked out of my old home and then I had a break down from the heat and acted like a fool in front of everybody. It's nice that Pete offers me his place all the time. It's nice to know he's always there for me. I love the dude."

"You love him?" What did I just ask that out loud. What the fuck?

"Yeah he's my best friend. I don't know what I'd do without him. He's like an older brother even though I'm older than him by two years."

"Wait how old are you?" Was that rude of me to ask, eh fuck it.

"I'm 24 and Pete's 22," she says.
(In this story Pete is 22 and Colson is 26 and Casie is five okay, idc if the facts are inaccurate its a fiction story line)

"Woah I forgot how young Pete was. I'm 26 what the hell? What happened, man? Time just passed me by." That made me sound old as fuck but aight.

"You're still in your twenties, relax. The twenties are like made for shitheads like us. We get to screw up and it makes sense cuz we're only 20, and if we're successful, everyone is like impressed cuz we made it being only 20. You got four more years till 30, you're fine."

Y/n just has this way with words. Even she doesn't even realize it, she changes people for the better. "Thanks," I say and she nods. I drink one last sip of beer and continue watching TV with her.

Y/n's POV
I finish my food, well like half of it. I fell asleep because I was really tired and couldn't stay awake. I was half asleep when I felt a blanket cover my body and this sweet feeling of warmth gave me comfort. It was so hot earlier and I hated it but this warmth was different.

Colson's POV
I look over for a second at her and she's fast asleep. She was probably tired from the long, hot day she had. I feel kinda bad that I made her come here instead of making something myself even though I don't cook. I did have a fun time picking her up and having her be with me. It's nice having a friend to eat with that isn't a dude and doesn't want to sleep with me right after. She looked so cute when she was asleep. I pull this blanket from the couch and place it over her. She smiled and softly snuggled her face into it. She was adorable. I mean not like I like her in that way she just like you know- fuck it she looked cute okay.

I put both our plates away in the sink. Someone might clean that later, I don't want to. I look back over at y/n and I can't stop looking at her. It's so weird. I don't know why but I carried her to my bed and tucked her in and I slept in the guest room. I guess I wanted her to have more comfort than me. She deserved it for being so cool about everything.

If you read the "stay" chapters than you'll notice they're basically the same as these "home" chapters. The next choice will be given during part 3 of both alternate choices. They both end the same way so right now, don't feel like you've made the wrong choice just yet.
