This one's gonna be split in two parts so that the chapters line up. Also as a heads up there is police in this story only for it to make sense. I am aware of what is happening right now and the blm protests against police brutality. I am anti racist and I support the black lives matter movement. In no way do I believe that racism, sexism or homophobia is acceptable. Read with caution and awareness.
Y/n's POV
Greg pulled up to his house which was a small and shady apartment. Greg opened the door and I saw Leo in the living room playing with his broken toy cars. I looked up and seemed happy to see me but sorry for me. I was sorry too. I walk over to him to give him a hug but the hug only lasted a second since Greg grabbed my waist and carried me to his room. It was dark and cold there and he threw me on his bed. He tied me to the bed frame to make sure I couldn't do anything. I cried the whole time and he hated when I cried. He slapped me and told me stop it. I held in my tears and tried to seem like I enjoyed the sex. I didn't.There was a knock on the apartment door while Greg had finished. "Stay here and be quiet," he demanded. He walked out of the room and opened the door. I only heard muffles and couldn't make out a thing. I head a thud and get scared. What's happening? Is Greg hurting someone? Where's Leo? The door bursts open and I see some cops come in looking horrified of what they saw. I tried to cover up myself as much as I could but I was tied up. They undid the knots and gave me privacy to change. Who called them?
Leo ran in the room and hugged me. He said, "I called them." I can't believe he saved us himself. I smiled and held him close. This poor kid. I walked out to see a handcuffed Greg looking furious. He deserved worse.
I carried Leo on my hip and started talking to the police.
"This man was way worse than just the things he did here. Because of Leo's call we were able to link that to five missing person cases. He's actually a murderer and has killed five women including his own wife. Only one other victim besides you has been able to survive. According to Ms. Hailey, Greg Fields uses his son to lure in his victims and make him seem like a nice innocent man. Thankfully, Hailey was able to come here today and recognize that Greg was indeed the man. He had never told anyone his last name or even the truth about where he works. He fakes getting calls by his work so he seems believable." That's true, I've never actually seen him at the gym. Anytime I go, he always says I just missed him and that it isn't his shift.
"I'm sorry about whatever damage he's done. For an estimate, he'll probably serve a life sentence or if he somehow finds a way to pay, he might have something less than that." What? He should be sentenced to life and shouldn't have a chance to pay for what he did with simply money. What he's done to these people is horrible and worse than anything I've ever seen. I'm not saying I want him dead but I'm sure his victims do.
I talk to the officer about Leo and she says that Leo will most likely go into foster care but I know the foster care system isn't the best thing for children. I decide to legally adopt him and raise him as my own. It's the least I could do. I promise to never ever hurt him.
I crouch down to Leo and give him another hug. "I'm so so sorry for your father. But I'm gonna adopt you so that no one can ever hurt you. I'm gonna take care of you."
Leo smiled and cried. I sat on the concrete as I held him in my arms. The poor kid just needed love and Greg never gave that to him.
I drive Leo to Colson's place and the moment I pull up, I see Colson rushing out the door. He embraced me in a hug and looked at my bruises. I could tell he was angry but mostly worried. He glanced over at Leo who had gotten out of the car. Leo ran and hid behind me to peak at Colson.
