Mae's POV

Kissing Nick felt so right, but right now it was scaring me. All I could picture was that guy trying to force me to do something that I didn't want to do.

I pulled away placing a hand on his chest, "Nick I-."

"I know baby, we can take things slow. I'm not like him. I'm not going to hurt you. Promise," he said kissing my forehead. I smiled at him warmly and all of my nerves suddenly felt so at peace.

"Do you want to go swimming?" He asked pouting. He stuck out his bottom lip which made me laugh lightly. I nodded and proceeded to get off his lap. Nick clapped his hands together excitedly and picked me up, throwing me over his shoulder.

I screamed, "Nicholas Carter put me down right now!"

Nick burst out laughing at my pitiful attempts of trying to get down. Eventually we made it to my room and Nick told me to change.

"I'll wait for you downstairs baby."

I smiled at him and shooed him out so I could change into a swimsuit. I smirked as I grabbed the one we bought the other day and quickly put it on. I looked in the mirror and Nick was right: this one was way better than my other one. It covered what it needed to but still showed quite a bit of skin. It actually looked really good on me.

I smiled to myself as I walked out to the pool. Nick had already turned the outside lights on because it was dark out. There was something about the idea of swimming at night that made it a sexy activity.

"Told you this one was perfect," Nick said as he eyed me up and down.

I blushed and looked to the ground while playing with my hands. Next thing I knew, Nick had picked me up bridal style and was walking towards the pool.

"Nick don't you dare!"

He smirked as he let go of me and threw me into the water. I screamed before going under. The water actually felt amazing on my bruised and battered skin. The sun had been beating on the water all day which made it the perfect temperature by nightfall.

Nick was laughing his ass off when I came back up for air. I shook my head and squinted my eyes at him.

"You're gonna get it Nick."

Nick sat on the edge of the pool with his legs emerged in the water. I stood in front of him placing my hands on his knees.

"Oh I'm so scared," he mocked. I smiled at him before placing my hands behind his knees and pulling him into the water. When his head resurfaced again he was no longer laughing. He glared at me but I gave him a sweet, innocent smile to which he chuckled at.

His hands wrapped around my waist, gently of course, and he pinned me against the pool wall, "that wasn't very nice sweetheart."

My stomach sank at the name sweetheart and I suddenly felt the urge to throw up.

"What's wrong Mae?" Nick's arms became tighter around me, as if he was trying to protect me from something.

I met his gaze but then quickly turned my head ashamed.

"Tell me princess," Nick said as he placed his hand under my chin to make me look at him again.

I sighed, "can you please not call me sweetheart anymore? That's what the man called me when he tried to...well, you know."

Nick's face fell and I could tell he felt bad about it.

"I'm sorry." I mumbled.

Nick moved my legs to wrap around his waist as he moved us deeper into the pool, "Don't be baby."

I looked at him smiling, the uneasy feeling drifting away instantly. Nick was being so good to me.

"Hey Nick?"

"Yeah princess?"

"I like you," I said while playing with the hair on the back of his head.

Nick smiled and tucked a strand piece of hair behind my ear.

"I like you too," he said before kissing the tip of my nose.

"So are guys like dating now or what?" Maggie asked as she dipped a French Fry in ketchup.

I felt my face flush, "well I don't think so. He hasn't officially asked me to be his girlfriend but he did ask me to go on a date with him."

"Ohhh I see a new relationship forming. So have you guys kissed yet?"

My face became even more red, "Multiple times actually."

Maggie and I looked at each other before we both laughed.

"You guys are going to be that touchy couple aren't you?" Maggie asked as she threw her trash away and we continued walking in the mall.

I chuckled before looking up and recognizing someone. I freezed instantly and my body tensed up.

"What's wrong, Mae?" Maggie gave me a concerned look.

I pointed to something in the distance, "That's him. That's the guy from the party."

Maggie looked where my finger was pointing, "What do we do, Mae?"

I decided to do what I did the other night.

Call Nick.
