We sit in the living room. The rest of the guys found out about me and Will and won't stop teasing us. El is in our bedroom trying to find Billy in the void. I'm sitting in Will's lap. He has his hands around me. Max is wiggling her eyebrows at us. We glare at her. She laughs. I get up and go to the kitchen. Will follows me. "Are you feeling better?" He asks. I nod and pour must some milk. "You want some?" I ask. He shakes his head. I look at him and he's staring at me. "Is something on my face?" I ask. He walks closer. "Yeah." He says. "What?" I ask. He kisses me softly. I miss back. When we pull apart, we smile. Max and mike come in the kitchen arguing. "Ok, who do you think should decide els limits? Mike or eleven?" Max asks. "The way you framed that is such bull****!!" Mike says. "So has saved the world twice and mike still doesn't trust her!" She adds. "Max is right." I say and Will nods. Nancy starts explaining. "Well can we please come up with a different plan because I love her and I can't lose her!" He says loudly. I clap and so walks out. "I found him."
"Hes sitting in his room on rhe 4th of july? How is that possible?" I ask. Max shrugs. Will sits beside me. We're sitting on the back of the couch. "Well, maybe he's sick after eating all the chemicals?" I ask. "He's not sick. Its a trap." Mike says back. Why does he hate me? I feel Will grab my hand and squeeze. I smile at him. "Guys, can y'all keep the pda to a minimum?" Mike says, glaring at Will. What's his problem? "You're just mad that el broke up with you Mike. You still can't get over it because she's probably the only girl that's ever liked you." I snap back at him. "Why don't you shut your f***in mouth for once alissa!!!" Mike says. I see tears start to form in his eyes and he runs to mine and el's bedroom. What have I just done?! He slams the door. I let go of Will's hand and get up. I open the door carefully and walk in. I close it behind me. Mike is sitting on el's bed crying. I sit beside him. "Go away alissa. Im not in the mood." He says. "I'm sorry Mike. I didn't mean it." I say to him. "Yes you did or you wouldn't have said that!" He whisper yells. He gets up. "Mike. I'm sorry. I didn't mean for that to slip out." I get up as well and embrace him in a hug. I wrap my arms around his neck and put my head on his chest. He immediately wraps his arms around my waist and puts his head on mine. I feel the feeling again. We stand there for a while, before the door opens. They all stand there and we pull away. They all shrug. "I forgive you alissa." Mike says. "Thanks Mike." I say and walk up to Will. "You apologized?" Will asks and I nod. He kisses me. I dont feel the butterflies anymore. He pulls away and pulls me in the bathroom. I start crying. "What's wrong alissa? You didn't feel it either, did you?" He asks. I nod. "I didn't feel the butterflies......" I say softly. "I get it. We weren't meant for each other. It's ok." He tells me. I nod and we walk out. Max walks up. "What happened? Did y'all break up?" She whispers. I nod. "I didn't feel butterflies with him and he didn't feel them either." I tell her. She nods. "It'll be ok." She tells me and hugs me. I nod and sit back where I was.
They explained where el was gonna do something where el was gonna go into billy's memory. "Take me with you." I say. She nods. "Ok. We can try." She says. I smile. I sit down and grab an extra blindfold. Mike walks up and sits beside me. "You don't have to do this. Neither of you do. Billy. His mind is crazy and perverted. That thing is in him. He can hurt y'all. I don't wanna lose either of you." He says. "Which is more reason for me to go." I say. So grabs his hand. "You won't lose us." She says. "You have to trust us. If you love el, trust her. She knows what shes doing." I say. He nods. We put on the blindfolds and they turn on the radio to all that plays is static. I concentrate and mine and els hands intertwine.
When i open my eyes, me and El are in the void. Endless dark and water below us. We saw Billy sitting on his bed. We are still hand in hand as we walk towards him. El grabs his arm, and I grab the other. "Billy, we want to see. We want to see what happened." We say in unison. He looks up and grabs our wrist. We start screaming and struggling. We fall backwards, letting go of each other's hands. I fall backwards and land at a mill. I don't see El.
After about five minutes, I see her and we run to each other. "Steelworks." I say. Soon, we are back in billy's grasp. We pull off our blindfolds. It's just us. "Mike!!!" We both yell. Billy walks in and we back away. "I knew you would try and find me, eleven. What I didn't expect is alissa here. Or should I say 013." My eyes widen. I look down at my wrist and something I never noticed was there. In black ink read 013. "But now I can see you. We can all see you. Eleven, you let us in, and now you'll have to let us stay. Weve been building it. For you. Both of you. First for eleven, but you became an obstacle too." He said. I screamed and a gust of wind flew at him and knocked him away.
I yanked my real blindfold off at the same time as el. She cries and backs into Mike's grasp. I'm crying and I run into the bathroom. He's gonna kill me. Both of us. Mike opens the door and sees me on the floor shaking and crying my eyes out. Just like how el found me in the lab. He bends down and embraces me. I don't do anything at first, but I wrap my arms around his neck tightly and cry into his shoulder. He rubs my back to comfort me. We hear a roar. I get up and run outside to see the shadiw monster made of melted People coming over the hill.
