I was chained up tight, they tossed me into the acid pool SCP-682 had occupied. The acid burned my skin at first, but once my flesh healed I felt no more pain. My hands were chained above me, a heavier chain linked around my neck. Scientists and guards muttered to each other as they looked down at me. I smiled innocently at them, a loud blaring sound filled the room. The people exited quickly. The door opened, on a metal slab was the unconscious body of SCP-682. The machinery that was carrying it slowly brought the chained up creature closer to the acid. Heavy duty guards quickly unchained it and put it on other chains that connected to the ceiling. A loud screeching sound echoed as SCP-682 was slowly lifted by the chains and carried over and behind me. I could hear the light splash as the creature landed in the acid. The old scientist I had talked to entered the room, he looked at me like a disappointed parent. "I trusted you 700, but you broke that trust." I pulled on my chains. "You're the one who was torturing me! I only protected myself!" The man held his hands behind his back, his jaw clenched slightly. "I hope you learn to see what we were truly doing." He turned his back to me and walked out of the room. When the metal door shut behind him, I heard a low growl come from behind me. I looked behind me, SCP-682 was beginning to wake up. I took a deep breath. "Morning." I said sarcastically. It's eyes almost immediately opened, it tried to stand but fell from its weak legs. A small wave of acid hit me in the face, my skin began to immediately dissolve. "Hey! Watch it reptile!" My skin started to heal over. SCP-682 glared at me. "Why are you here?" It asked. It's low voice shook my head. "They put me in here after I killed some cowards." I turned my head back around and looked at the sealed metal door. "You killed another?" I laughed. "Of course! After all, he deserved it after what he did." I looked down at the acid that swallowed the lower part of my body. "What did he do?" SCP-682 asked, I scoffed. "When did you become the chatty type?" I asked sarcastically. SCP-682 growled in response. "Last I checked you're in my cage, so you answer my questions." I sighed. "They electrocuted me. So I took him and blew his brains up with electricity!" I looked back at SCP-682 and smiled. It almost seemed taken aback at my action. "I thought you didn't want to kill." I shrugged. "I didn't, until I learned how many worthless cowards runner this place." I heard what sounded like a chuckle come from the creature. "Did you just laugh?" I asked astonished. SCP-682 now had enough energy to stand, it towered over me in a matter of seconds. "I thought all pathetic humans were wrong. It seems I was wrong about one." I scoffed. "No. You're right, because I'm no human." This time the creature scoffed. "Is that so? Then what are you exactly?" I opened my mouth to respond, but nothing came out. I shut my mouth and bowed my head. "That's what I thought. You may not act like all of them, but you're still the same species." I raised my head back up. "Are there more of you?" I looked back, the creature was taken aback by my question but regained itself quickly. "No. I'm all there is." Something felt off about its response. "How come you're the only one left, yet your kind seem impossible to kill." SCP-682 pulled on its chains. I never received an answer, instead we sat there for hours upon hours in silence. I groaned as I pulled on my chains again, the flesh on my wrists was raw. "Why do I feel so weak?" I asked myself. "You're in acid, it's how they make sure you can't break out." SCP-682 responded. "It's a way they maintain your power. Like me, I can break out of containment easily but because of the acid I can't even break a few chains." I looked back towards SCP-682, then an idea popped into my head. I smirked. "What if I broke the chains for you?" SCP-682 studied me. "Thanks, but I'll pass. Just because you say it doesn't mean you'll do it. I don't even know if this is a trick, or if you mean what you say." I chuckled. "I guess you are as dumb as you look." SCP-682 howled and splashed a wave of acid onto my back, the skin began to sizzle. "Okay okay! I'm sorry, I take it back!" I sighed. Scientists began to pour into the room, along with a few guards. SCP-682 growled are them and demanded they leave if they had no business there. Then the old man walked in front of them all and looked straight at me. "You two are going to be partners."
