The acid burned my skin, this time I couldn't ignore it. "You've fought that thing before?" 682 nodded its head. "I ate it, thinking it was a weird snack. Then it tore through my stomach and practically ripped me to shreds. After hours of attacking each other, it finally stopped." I looked at my arm, the sleeve was torn and bloody. I took a deep breath. "What have I done?" I muttered to myself, I heard 682 scoff. "You let go." I looked up at 682. "How did you know that?" 682 turned its head to the side, the chains groaning and squeaking under the strain. "Guards talk. You killed two high class scientists." I looked down at the acid, I felt guilt crawling up my spine. "I was angry, it felt good to have control of something." 682's chain groaned again signaling it was moving its head. "You let the control get to your head. When you do that, you become an issue to them." I looked up towards the metal door, it was shut tight. "Why are we here? Why can't we leave?" I waited for 682's response. "Because, we're not normal to the people out there. We're monsters." I pulled at my chains, this wasn't where I was ment to be. I felt like I needed to be somewhere, someplace that needed me. "My home." I said. A sudden flash appeared in front of me. It was an older woman, I could hear her voice but her words were jumbled. "Mother." The word left my mouth, my heart twisted. I have a mother! How could I forget that? "I have to find my home." I pulled harder at the chains. "What home?" 682 asked me. "I have a home, a family. I need to find them, they need me." I pulled harder, the chains creaked under the pressure. "Stop, they'll hear you." 682 ordered. I ignored its order and continued to pull at the chains. A siren started to go off, guards began to fill the room. "SCP-700! Please stop struggling!" My pulling and tugging became more frantic. "I have to get home!" The feeling of urgency engulfed my body, a gunshot rang out. I closed my eyes and waited, but there was no bullet. I slowly opened my eyes, in front of me was SCP-682's tail. It had blocked me from the bullet, it moved its tail. The bullet wound already healing. "Why?" Was all I could lutter out, 682 stared at the guards. "Because you have something us SCP's don't. A home. A family. A place to call their own." I smiled up at 682, and for a second I thought I saw a smile in return. "Now go!" 682 swung its tail over my head hitting the chains hard enough they broke. My arms fell from their position, guards started yelling and pointing their guns at me. "Remember, you're not human. That means you're more powerful than even they can't imagine." I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, I pulled my anger up. This time only letting a little bit control me. My skin began to heal from the acid quickly. I opened my eyes and looked past the guards and targeted my attention at the door. Guns began to go off, I dodged the bullets and watched them fly into the acid. Then it hit me. "682! You're tail!" 682 looked at me confused, then realized what I wanted. It raised its tail high above its head and slammed it down into the acid. A wave of acid swept me up and put me on the platform, the guards and few scientists were screaming as their skin began to melt. I ran to the door, it began to close. I sprinted as fast as I could, and slid right under the door. I turned my head back to see 682 looking back. For a second time I could swear I saw a smile. The metal door sealed shut, now I was on my own. I looked down both hallways, I already felt lost. "Which way?" I asked myself. Then a sign caught my attention. It had three locations, the first two were not helpful. Then I read the third location. "SCP-059's new room." I thought for a moment, then it hit me. "The little girl!" I sprinted in the direction the arrow was pointing, maybe just maybe she'd be able to help me get back home.
