Every day my patience for this household shrinks. Its not that I'm not used to the loud German rock music by now coming from next door, but the suspicious banging in the middle of the night was just a bit unsettling. I guess it was nice for my friend Fayre to help me find a new place, seeing as she and her boyfriend were the source for the scary sounds.
Fayre and I have been friends ever since we became roommates, and she is an insanely smart Moroccan-American, and yes, she makes this distinction every time. She's incredibly talented but sort of ditzy sometimes, and extremely fashion forward. Fayre met her boyfriend Orion a few months after we'd met and he moved in with us hence the start of all of this.
Orion is an amazing guy, and is intelligent as his girlfriend. He definitely came from a wealthy family but you can't really tell from how down to earth he is in general.
So basically, I think we made a good group of friends but their "activities" make me question that whole thing. Besides being third wheel everywhere we go together doesn't exactly help the situation.
They both understood my side of things and my sort of need to be in a different location seeing as my school was an horrendous commute away from the apartment we shared.
Fayre has made it her personal mission to find me the perfect place for me because she didnt trust many people (most realtors included for some reason) and she was really good at reading a person if you give her at least five minutes. Thats how she and I became so close actually.
At first I didn't talk a lot when I first met her and it took me a while to open up but she refused to leave me alone and so we became inseparable in a short amount of time.
I suppose people might look at our group a little weirdly; a stunning woman of Moroccan decent, a handsome wealthy Indian guy and a single chubby Filipina but I think we make it work... somehow....
Leaving my room and going downstairs to the kitchen, I found Fayre and Orion at the table talking.
"Hey Naila, I found some places that I think will be amazing for you," Fayre had said, looking away from her boyfriend.
"Well, I do believe I helped a little, did I not?" Orion said teasingly.
"Of course you did babe, I just did most of the work and so I should be getting the credit," She said back, batting her eyes.
I smiled and chuckled at the scene in front of me.
"You guys doing realize this," I wiggled my finger at the two of them. "Is the reason why I am leaving, you understand that right? I do believe you had said literally just an hour ago that you didnt want me to leave. 'Please you cant leave me with him,'" I mimicked Fayre.
"That was before he made me dinner. Yours is on the stove by the way," She states like it was obvious.
"Of course youd abandon me over food," Placing my hand on my chest faking pain. "How could you, I thought you were my sister."
"I am but it's his cooking though!" Fayre exclaimed, pointing at said male. "You cant tell me you wouldnt abandon me for his cooking!"
I thought about it and eventually agreed, nodding. Orions cooking was absolutely amazing and one thing I'd miss intensely once I left.
I got a place and took some of the salmon and quinoa that was left for me. It smelt amazing and tasted even better.
"By the way Nai, the appointments are starting at one are there are a few were going to be looking at. Good or decent prices and most of them are only a fifteen minute, twenty minute walk from your school."
I nodded along while eating knowing that either way she would make the decision for me, and I trusted her opinion.
Suddenly my phone started vibrating in my pocket. I put my food down to check who it was only to put it back and ignore it, waiting for the sound to stop and went back to eating.
I could feel the looks of the two other people in the room but I didnt dare look up. They knew about my life back home and I hated it. I knew their looks were filled with pity.
Finishing my food and washing the plates in the sink, I said goodnight, hugging them both as they kissed my head and I left for my bedroom.
As soon as I closed the door I flopped into the bed curling up and putting on some soft jazz music fell asleep allowing only a couple of tears stream down my face.
—-///—-
I woke up to light glaring at my face and my eyes puffy enough that I had to force my eyes to open a bit more than usual. You know those days where you just want to stay in bed for the rest of your life but you have work or school well, I definitely would love to stay in bed but I, in fact need to go to both work and school.
I go to the washroom with the outfit I will be wearing for the day which is a pair of yoga pants and a t-shirt. Doing my routine and finally looking in the mirror, I realize I look like I'm about to go to some sort of yoga class but whatever, I have no one to impress.
Stuffing the uniform for work into my bag, I call out a quick goodbye to the couple watching Tv while cuddling on the couch and stumble out the door and onto my bike.
Biking to the train station took a few minutes and I had to wait on the platform before the train arrived.
The ride to school was long and I was used to it but it was a good reason why I wanted to move closer. My job at this small cafe near the school was also another good reason.
Youd think i could possibly sleep during the ride if it took so long but Im always too worried to sleep on these things, you never know if you might miss your stop or someone could steal from you while you slept. So I sat there, trying not to fall asleep looking through my phone and ending up at my reading app.
Passing by the small cafes and boutiques that Ive become acquainted with via Fay and her adventurous streaks she gets often. We have made so many memories at random places here but itd be nice to make new ones and I know the woman who I dub my sister would love to explore the places around my new place.
Getting to school was as uneventful as usual and I went to my classes. All my classes were in english and most of my classmates were from different places worldwide so the beginning and end of classes are always filled with story telling in english and german.
The class came and went filled with a few laughs and such. Waving goodbye to some friends Ive made and crossed the street and was about to open the door but I felt some eyes on me.
I turned around a bit, holding my bag a little closer to my body and noticed a small group of five people, from how far they were from me, sitting on the stairs of the campus, I couldn't tell if they were looking at me as my eyesight wasn't the best but their bodies were turned towards me.
I don't think I've ever noticed them around before but I do keep my head down often.
Shaking it off, I head into the cafe, I decided to just ignore the feeling. Changing into my uniform, greeting my coworkers and regulars. Today my shift was only two hours so it didnt give any room for anything interesting to take place so I went home right after.

A/N:
Welcome to Love's Complex. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read this story and hopefully you grow to love Naila as much as I do and hopefully you find something in common with her. I'd love to know your opinions on her and this story and maybe a couple of suggestions to make this story more fun for you guys, I'd love the constructive criticism.
Also, I'd like to mention this will be a slow burn story. Not many people fully understand Polyamory or Polygamy the first time they hear it and sometimes need time to understand the concept.
Thank you so much for reading and please like the story just so I can have some sort of self satisfaction;)
