The Practice Match

Sugawara pov

I was slightly shocked at the way Kageyama expressed his view. But that is besides the point why would Hinata act clueless? He is really talented . I need to get to the bottom of this , we also need him on the team he would be a fantastic asset. Practice began and I must admit that my group was picking things up really quickly! Their passing was solid for beginners their sets were fairly accurate but their spikes could improve! All the groups were making excellent progress except one , since they were first years we put Kageyama , Tsukishima and Yamaguchi in charge of one group and let's just say they weren't getting much done. Yamaguchi is too shy , Tsukishima is too salty and Kageyama is too harsh! We were going to hold a practice match in around 15 mins and their team was no where near ready!

I went over to Daichi to tell him what was happening. He told me to take over. The final 15 mins passed quickly and I managed to teach the basics to the group.

We then split up into teams . There was going to be 2 matches with members of the volleyball team spread between them.

I was in the team who would be facing off against Hinata ...

Hinata pov

Finally it was time for the matches ! My practice group had been led by a man named Asahi. He was sooooo tall but he was a good teacher , He was also the Ace ! So we picked things up very quickly. He was much nicer than I thought he would be. The team I was placed in was going to play against Suga's. Unfortunately Kageyama was also on my team with a green haired boy called Yamaguchi. He was nice. The game began it was slow at first (since most people were new to the game.) The 'King of the Court' was bossing people around much to their annoyance. Soon we got our head in the game and it was actually quite fun . I hadn't played in a team for such a long time. After a few rotations I was finally in the middle blocker position . Bakayama was to the right of me . Question was , Was he going to toss to me? The battle for the final point began a rally went on for a very long time. By this time the other match was already finished and they were gathering around the court to witness our game. That is when I saw it a perfect opening that only I could reach . I went for it praying that Kageyama would toss to me. I jumped , no I flew. I saw they ball in slow motion I hit it straight into the space in the middle of the court... I landed only to be met with loud cheers. We had won the game!! I was squished by my teammates in celebration. We gathered in front of Daichi so he could wrap the lesson up. We were all dismissed. I was walking out of the door when I heard a "Hinata can you come here for a moment" I looked around and started walking towards Sugawara. The rest of the volleyball team was also standing there watching me as Daichi said

"Hinata are you part if any clubs yet?"

I shook my head in a rather uncertain manner.

"Well" he continued " Could you possibly consider joining the volleyball team?"

My mouth was open in shock , they wanted me to be on the same team the Little Giant was on?!

I look at them all with an incredulous look. I look at Kageyama then to Suga and then finally to Daichi. That was when I heard the voice in the back of my head...

They don't really want you they just pity you

Shut up – I don't think they are joking

Remember what your old team did to you?

But they aren't the same

How can you be sure ?

I thought I told you to shut up!

Come on you know I am right as usual.

Be quiet!

Who would want a weak, ugly , mute murderer like you!

I told you to SHUT UP!

Fine but you will come to realise that it is true.

I look up at the team who have been watching me this entire time waiting for my answer. I grabbed my note book and scribbled ' I don't know are you sure you want me? I would probably tie you down!'

They all read the note .

"We obviously want you I mean your spikes are flawless! Your receives and serves are also really strong." Sugawara confirmed

"I agree with Suga" Daichi interjected

"Yeah my little under class man!" Tanaka agreed

The rest of the team nodded their heads well almost everyone Bakayama and the tall looking undercooked chip who just looked bothered by the whole thing.

I thought about it for a moment and then wrote – 'Okay , I will join.'

They read it and all began welcoming me to the team saying how they were glad that I was with them and not against them.

"Practices are before and after school. If you have to miss them for any reason please let myself or Sugawara know. Also please fill these forms out so you can become an official part of the team!"

I nod receive the forms and excuse myself to go to lunch.    

What in the world have I got myself into?!
